Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Some people swear by chiro's, each to their own. But when the local one sent me a flyer and they're all sitting there using the title "Doctor", well, someone is seriously trying to have a lend!

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
The problem is that so many of them really believe the "ALL DISEASE IS CAUSED BY MISALIGNMENT OF THE VERTEBRAE" tenet of the faith.
So, they don't stick to just treating overridden spinal articular facets, which is what manipulative therapy can do some good for.

Even worse...
"I've got this growing lump in my breast."
"Your back's out"
I saw that lady as a patient 6 months later after her terminal Breast Cancer was diagnosed.
(Pity she didn't go to her GP before she went to the Chiropractor instead of several months later.)

Bullshit.
No matter how much neck or shoulder pain you have, it's not going to go away if the spine isn't in the right spot.
Dicky hamstring? most comes from pelvic mis-alignment. No manner of exercises will strengthen it if the muscle is under constant pressure by being tilted too far forward.
Not saying by anymeans that EVERYTHING is linked to the spine but I do know you're wasting your money if you go to physios for certain treatments.
I woke up with wry neck one Christmas day - horrible - and the only available professional to see was a physio at sportsmed the next day. He massaged it and told me to do excercises. Biggest waste of money ever.
I guess choosing health professionals is just like anything - theres good and bad in every profession.
I live by my chiro, he's great - @Valleys07 can attest to this.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
The thing that annoys me with 'health' professionals (Physiotherapists, Chiropractors & Podiatrists) is their distrust of each others field of expertise. FFS help me get sorted by working together not telling me to only seek their treatment.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Chiropractors are complete quacks, can't believe people still fall for them but it makes as much sense as religion, there's a lot of stupid people out there.
Chiros are as close to being doctors or physios as I am to being a tea toteller.

And if it can't be fixed by chiro or physio then there's always Reiki.

Have you ever put 2c of petrol in and gone to pay for it? Works out well with the rounding system.

Physio or Dr depending on the complaint.
Depends on the problem.
I had lower and upper back pain and saw 2 GP's (hoping for a good referral) and 3 different Physio's over a 12 month period hoping they would fix the issue.
It only got worse until I saw a Chiro.
4 visits later it was 70-80% better.
I go back every 3 months for a re-alignment but well worth it.
Each to their own I guess!

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
for those that sit at desks: the best thing i ever did for my back pain was get a new chair. My work got someone in to do an ergonomic assessment for me.
I am 6ft tall, and a "standard" office chair has a base that is 450mm deep. That is for someone about 5ft 6" apparently, though that is the default size.
So i got a chair that is 525mm deep instead, and it has literally solved all of my back issues that i was having.

Yep I'm 6'3 and sitting down all day was my problem as well.
I went and got an electric desk that allows you to move it up and down when required.
I stand all the time now at my desk.
My back has never been better.
