Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Lady Bay last Friday - the bloke in the pro shop described the conditions as "mint" and he wasn't wrong. I've never seen it so calm. Had 29 points which included 6 wipes.
Saturday the wind was up & wrecked havoc for everyone - 22 points
Sunday was Ambrose at Fleurieu Mt Compass, 3 under after 5 & we thought we were going to be in the money. Finished 2 under & ran second.
New clubs will take some getting used to, driver & hybrids went ok, couldn't hit the irons to save myself.
I ache all over and my liver isn't talking to me.

Discussion on Saturday about the use of carts in comp.

General consensus is that they shouldn't be allowed, unless you have a medical certificate or perhaps over a age.

Clearly an unfair advantage when they don't use any excess energy apart from hitting the ball.

Thoughts??

Nup I find cart golf just as tiring for some reason...... hardly ever use them in comps unless offered a spare seat by a playing partner or on medical advice (had to use one for 8 weeks after my ankle recon.)

Will use them in a social game though with family or mates.

With a medical certificate, or for the older blokes is fine by me in comps.

I try to keep myself reasonably fit. I can't say that when I play golf in a cart I get any kind of advantage, as I don't find it particularly taxing to walk. I am certainly not "exhausted" after walking say 15 holes, and the guy in the cart beats me home as a result. In fact I go for my 5 k morning run on a Saturday.... then go play golf. My shyte scores are a result of shyte play... nothing else.

I use my buggy all the time and it's not because of medical reasons. It's because it's too hard to carry an esky as well as push a buggy

Its very open to interpretation tho I have a medical certificate to use my cart for my knees but, I could certainty walk 18 holes and often do unless its hot or I want cold beer. People will always bend rules.

I have a certificate as I still play cricket and if I walk 18 holes Saturday morning sometimes cricket can be tough.

True - A bad day at golf, is better than a great day at work.
