Yep looks like injuries have caught up with him. And he was never athletic to begin with.

Only the very best (ie dean cox) go on into their 30s. Especially the way the game is played now.

Dean Cox, Riewoldt, Richardson, Salmon ect are a small % of blokes who kept going strong at 29/30. The majority inc people like Carey, Brown ect soon as they turn either 29 or 30 they all of a sudden go backwards and it happens at the flick of a switch.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Donald Dickie would just be bashed.

Don made one error and had a bad night at the office, he was by no means caught up in trends.

Lobbe due back soon - will he be rushed back into the side or will Port persist with Trengove?

Thought Neade was very quiet Friday too - in conditions I thought might suit him a bit better.

Neade was named in the best in several outlets reports. Got me ******! Had 9 touches, 1 kick, no goals. 2 frees for, 4 tackles.

AFL.com.au -

BEST
Port Adelaide: Boak, Trengove, Wines, Broadbent, Mitchell, Ebert, Neade
Richmond: Ellis, Miles, Riewoldt, Rance, Deledio

Lobbe has to come back in, probably a week in the SANFL. We can't keep Trengove rucking, he'll miss next year listed out as he's "Rooted".

LOL reckon Robbie Gray and Westhoff would have reason to feel bit hard done by - even Wingard I thought had more influence

Wonder who does the AFL best players!

Fair call RE: Lobbe - what sort of fitness condition will he be in though? Might struggle to get around the ground.

Some big ins down at Port land this week. Butcher and Toump with Mitchell keeping his spot.

So Port should start unbackable favourites this week.

As opposed to?

Lobbe will need at least one week in the SANFL, perhaps more, but we can't keep throwing Trengove to the wolves if we have a ruckman ready. Just a question of when Lobbe will be ready.

MATTHEW LOBBE, Will Snelling and Matt White are scheduled to return next week when Port Adelaide plays North Melbourne and the SANFL Eagles.

It’s a significant boost for Port, which has been without a dedicated ruckman in the AFL since Lobbe went down with a PCL injury in Round 6.

Rookie midfielder Snelling will return from a long-term foot complaint, while White will also make his long-awaited return from a pectoral injury.

White went down in the opening term against St Kilda – way back in Round 1 – and has spent almost the entirety of the season in rehab.

With no injuries reported from either of its wins last weekend, the Power should go into Thursday night’s clash with Hawthorn unchanged.

Jack Hombsch will have scans on Monday to determine the extent of a quad injury suffered before his anticipated return last week.

He is not expected to play against the Hawks.
