Receiving a message today that Hassans on Fourth Avenue at Klemzig has suddenly closed his doors after 40 years.

Anyone who lives in the North East and has frequented this establishment will also be as saddened as I am.

Unfortunately I think the ATO has caught up with him. Word is that he's lost his house and everything :(

A bloke dying after being struck by a falling tree this morning in the hills when he was clearing another from the road.

Winds were as brutal as I can remember overnight. Always get a bit nervous driving to work in such conditions.

Reading Tom Chadwicks (excellent) article yesterday - http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/emotion ... fcc24a5a3b - About the Jake Watson tragedy. What those young lads, Jakes parents/family/friends, trainers, volunteers, opposition etc must have gone through. Just horrific!

My young lads got extra love when I got home from work yesterday.

Agree, Tom will look back on that piece in years to come as one of his best. Although not mentioned they had already been through this before with some under 17 players.

In someways its a small shame that the memorial to those West Adelaide players lost is barely seen by those not involved with a SANFL club on match days tucked away in the players race.
