On the AFL site, I went to the telecast times to see what time the Adelaide Carlton game was on tv etc.

It's obvious that this shocking site has been left laying dormant for a while.

http://afl.com.au/AFL2008/Fixture/Viewi ... fault.aspx

Despite the ability to click on "TV & Radio coverage" in the current round of matches, you go to Rd 16 telecast times.

Well, it turns out we probably had a better chance of winning against Sturt than South, but no chocolates.

Anyway, I've got another for this thread. The graphic which comes up in the Sunday Roost Eagles Edition shows the winning kick was 43 metres. Then Scott Walsh (and the leader board) says it's 63 metres - which is correct when you look at the video.

Centrals' late captain written in today's paper as "Daniel Holme", thats one name i'm sure the CDFC would have liked the Advertiser to get correct i would have thought.

Journo is a CD supporter too i believe.

A "journo" for the Messenger by the name of Phil Aspinall mispelt "eratic" in his Centrals-North match report, which as reports go was, in all honesty, ordinary at best. I'm pretty sure this is SA Footy's Big Phil!

God help us - he's actually a journo now. ARGH!!!!!!! The guy that makes more spelling and grammatical errors than my 6yo nephew and has canned the likes of Zac Milbank and Michelangelo Rucci on this forum (quite personally and abusively in the case of Rucc), while constantly bleating "I can get what I want wrong, I'm not a journalist, these guys get the big bucks, I hate it when they get it wrong etc etc" ... is now one of "them". I wonder how long he'll last before the editor decides he's had enough.

Despite being hungover I thought Id drive to the servo and grab an iced coffee and a paper.
No mention or article on Hawks v Sydney, no mention or article on Norwood v West and it has Port and South playing today not tomorrow.
In their defence there is an article about how a Crows player and Gold Coast player have the same name, intriguing stuff.
And no, Im not in the country, I live 5 minutes from the CBD.
WTF?
I didnt think this piece of trash could get any worse but it does!

And that's why I don't buy the paper anymore.... nailed it. 2 Players with the same name, fascinating......was it the lead story?

Good comment, only the SANFL can get action round the media.
Sadly, the competition is in decline,on all fronts.
The ball is in the SANFL court.
It is a worry.

Let me guess - Daniel Talia and Daniel Currie? What a coincidence!

Skimmed the footy section of today's rag at work. Noticed that the Monday SANFL page now has a rundown of the top 5 Raven and Power reserve players. This piece was almost bigger than the half baked Power v South review.

Noticed that. Coverage in the paper is just poor. Barely even a page write-up for the whole competition. Their website isn't much better, with a barely obvious link to the Local Footy SA website which doesn't even host most of the match reviews anyway. No stats in the paper like in the past, yet Crows and Power games get their million stats covering half the page published twice in two days.

I don't know how non-Crows/Port supporters live in this state with the way our media is.

It's easy. Don't buy the crappy paper. Listen to podcasts from the Eastern States so you can get news on your team and if I want Sturt news, I go to their facebook site.

it's a shame that it's come to this but I'm one of many that don't bother reading the local paper these days because it's a futile exercise.

Saturday evening news on Channel 7. The slide comes up behind Soders with the Centrals vs Crows score. His comments on the game?

"Brad Crouch got 36 touches when the Crows state league side lost to Centrals today" (or very similar). One sentence, no further comment.

Thank God Channel 7 are doing it for SA Footy hey?
