Just had a chat to a State selector about the state side. I asked him about the inclusion of Luke Carey. He said it's good for morale to have someone from every club in the squad. My reply "they're not a f**king club, they're a reserves side". He didn't disagree. I told him it was an insult to every other SANFL player to include a guy who obviously didn't want to put in hard yards at an SANFL club and is gifted games at this level by playing with a reserves side. Again he didn't disagree.

Beating VFL in Victoria always good.

Had a fantastic weekend doing the road trip with the Life FM boys.

As we did last year going to Perth for the WAFL game, actually not as good because we lost.

I used to love the state game. it was always great to see the best of the SANFL v the VFL or the WAFL. But alas times are gone and while the players may still feel and share the pride of representing the SANFL, I feel it has become meaningless.

Disappointing I guess.
