Gotta say in this state if you get injured at a work Xmas function it's work cover
I went to a work awards function according to work I wasn't getting an award no need for me to be there .
This year first time in my 21 years there no invitations sent out a worker in the office walked around the 51 employees of my section . 11 of us said yes .
To me that's me getting invited not so says work .
And the insurer didn't want to answer yes or no I was getting calls from work every week come back on light duties .
Now when I got that call from the insurer and I was directed to the unions lawyer . He called them Xmas week they complained but assured him they would contact me with a letter saying yes or no by Xmas day 2015 .
I contacted the lawyer Jan 4 told him no letter .
Funny enough work called me oh the insurer needs more time to consider I blurted out oh so they lied to my lawyer ,
What you have a lawyer that went over badly . Cause I added in they kept saying go on sickness benefits I can't until the insurer says no .
So I got one of two emails from the insurer that said roughly we see your returning to work we've helped you please fill in the survey .
Once I saw it called up the lawyer he said don't fill it in .
That's when he told me they had sent him a letter and he had called them it's a no to work cover and they have sent me a no letter .
The following week same email
And the lawyer sent me papers to sign
Also had help from a social worker to fill in papers for Centrelink my GP gave me a month off until Feb1 ,
Rehab therapists said no way got me in earlier to see rehab doc filled in Centrelink papers and a sick cert for work until April 25 .
But still work causes a hassle social worker needs a letter saying I have a job to go back to of course that person is on leave funny that .

Ok I'm a little confused here social worker had to contact my work they were under the impression I wasn't returning to work.
The people who said no workcover come back on light duties now .
Ok so my social worker had to talk to them over a letter saying I'd have a job to return to .
Oh no work needs to know the exact time and date I'm returning . Social worker said that's a bit hard to say just yet . He suggested she talk to two of the therapists as the doctor says when .
Now the person from work is supposed to call me after I spoke to the social worker on the phone I had to give him some paper work . Had she called me it was an hour after he called me nope not yet .
There biggest argument they don't think I can work were I was going to send me somewhere else but need to know now am I full time part time .
My god hey you get traumatic brain injury at a work function and it's oh he won't work his job of 21 years .
Funny when I've asked to move no no no

Perhaps I posted that to early .
Ok work just called
They still need to know the exact date and time I'm coming back to work
And what I can do
Even after she was told by social worker they can't tell yet .
Cause they need to know if I can do my job or be moved
Geez lucky I had a traumatic brain injury and not something serious lol

Now I have recovered from yesterdays phone call those that dont know me in real life . yes i got stressed and so much more head pain from the stress.
Couple of things Firstly
1work told by a social worker who works for the therapy rehab place theres no set date time or what i can do when i return
2 So they pushed me for the same information i told them same ,
Still they need to know the date time and when im returning
3 They didnt like my certificate saying I had a traumatic brain injury . Me i did say its the truth i was hurt sober at a work function . didnt go over that i said i was sober as i dont drink
4 While they kept telling me from phone call one to get sickness benefits which i couldnt until the insurer said no to workcover im still awaiting the letter theyve sent my lawyer . But they are now going on i need to talk to someone if i have to i will but only if its private and not reported to work . Which like being married its like a wife finding something out lol

And while they know i have a lawyer they havent said they know whats going on i aint saying

Got my third CT scan thursday and Friday my first eye appointment (second one is on a six month waiting list )
Therapists are trying to get me ready for work its a slow process . Eye appointments are needed hopefully they'll be good i get my license back.

Not sure about my employer still needing to know when im returning exact date time what i can do, Work keeps saying i maybe moved to a different job . Ive asked social worker has asked therapists have asked they will not say what this other job is .
This from work makes it hard for the therapists to get me ready for work

I should add hopefully this CT scan will say yes or no to a fractured cheek bone one area of pain daily

I feel ok do something like a therapy session and I'm exhausted

My missus had viral meningitis over Jan (2 weeks in hospital) and she's still a bit spacey in the head even now so can't imagine what you're going through. Hope for a speedy recovery.

I'm getting there slowly gotta remember things like walk slow .
If I need to turn my head at a supermarket walk to a shelf stop and look . I didn't Sunday fierce pain attack .
One of my biggest issues fatigue I get so tired my CT scan 10 min walk there and back to the parked car I was knackered .
Still get light headed pain is non stop basically. Kids have said I've stopped repeating myself over and over lol .
Memory isn't the best still
As my main therapist said I look normal talk normal after 10 mins talking I look like I'm going to collapse in sleep .

I know it all sounds good but it's a slow process for me and I'd say your wife .
I detest laying down eye spins corners in cars or buses aren't good
I'll get there I do wish my employer would understand brain injuries and perhaps my mum she has no idea I basically almost fall over in house each visit on the weekend

I should say I'm still confused by the employer but if I say what I think even I think I'm paranoid lol .
I think I've said I still lost my car license tomorrow I see the first eye doctor second one takes 6 months to get in .
Not much I can do there .
Work didn't sound impressed lol .
They kept saying we have a new job for you but didn't like me saying I've lost my license thanks to the brain injury .
Still I have issues
But three people including me asking what's the new job all I could hear was crickets .
So there u go I do think it's get me back then sack me they can't do it until I return cause right now it would be wrongful dismissal .
Who think they'd go like this after a brain injury at their work function

They both spoke to me on the phone day two out of rehab on the same call .
Saying come back on light duties when I said I can't with out seeing the rehab doctor in three months the boss said get sickness benefits.
Then their insurer called me saying they tell me when to go back to work I needed to take money from the
Until they decide yes or no if no had to pay it back so I didn't
I called the union put me onto the lawyer
Honestly I heard what they said in a nicey nicey way
Every week except for the last three weeks
Get sickness benefits
Light duties
New job
Now they are saying I'm wrong
