36- Mt Torrens v Cambrai (21.5 overs)

Plenty of others under 100.

didn't Mt Torrens also get rolled for 30-odd in the last game last season? embarrassing for a club to get rolled so cheaply so frequently..

5 rounds completed in the TVCA (ladder based on ppg to account for byes)

Gumeracha (14.3)- Only loss was R1 when short-handed against Pirates. C. Sumner averaging 76 with bat, 7 with ball.
Palmer (14.1)- Surprise loss to EV their only blemish so far. Would probably like to be making more runs.
Lenswood (14.0)- Smashed by Palmer before winning past 3, including surprise 9 wicket win v Pirates. Some new faces contributing.
Paracombe (12.0)- A little inconsistent so far. Snatched an unlikely outright the previous week v Springton to keep their spot in the 4.

Cambrai (11.7)- Narrow defeat to Gum, but look like they will be around the mark again this year. Plenty of bowling depth.
Eden Valley (7.2)- Followed up a win against Palmer by losing to winless Springton. Appear to have lacked a consistent line-up so far.
Springton (5.5)- If they can get their best 11 on park they will be reasonable. Lasted just 13 overs v Paracombe but knocked off EV.
Mt Torrens (4.9)- Some woeful batting efforts so far, with two scores under 40. A better effort yesterday v Palmer.
Birdwood (2.0)- Winless and again struggling to make runs. A few new-comers who might help their cause.

Perennial B grade battlers Cambrai are the surprising ladder leaders in the reserve grade.

4 rounds completed in the HCA and it's been a cracking start with every team winning a game and all teams having a lose after meadows lost to lofty.

1. Meadows- surprise loss on the weekend but still the team to beat with incredible batting depth.
2. Scibs- probably suprised a few after losing some players but there bowling is very good and some batters are stepping up at the minute.
3. Flaggies - highly disciplined team that have 11 good players. Bowling is very good and deep and batting has improved over last few weeks.
4. Lofty- sitting 4th after playing the top 3 already is good signs, batting is deep even without Sinclair but bowling may lack abit without him. Will depend if he comes back to where they finish up but expect them to play finals either way.
5. Aldgate- Much improved with their English import and new captain but lack the depth to be consistent as they rely on a few to fire at the minute.
6. Happy valley- been very competitive even without middleton, turnbull is dominating with the bat and if they get cox and Moran to play consistently they will be a much better team with the ball.
7. Uraidla- lost a few it appears or maybe their away but expect them to bounce back as they always start of the year slowly before coming home strong. Any team with brown in their is dangerous.
8. Kangarilla- lack depth and have a huge reliance on featherstone with the ball. Will win some games but will struggle to bowl sides out consistently to win to many games.

This week:
Scibs v meadows- gf rematch and Scibs should be fired up after their awful display in the gf, plus with tarque heading to meadows this could be interesting. Meadows by 20 runs.

Aldgate v kangy- aldgate at aldgate is a hard task as they have some big hitters, expect Clements and short to be in the runs. Aldgate easily.

Lofty v uraidla- in a one day game I think Uris May be to good for lofty as they have more depth with the ball plus brown is due after a few quiet weeks. Uris by 5 wickets.

Happy's v flaggies- unless turnbull takes 5 and makes a 100 flaggies will win as they don't lose games they shouldn't. Flaggies comfortably.

Great summary, why did Tarque go back to Meadows? Am I right he has gone SCIB's > Meadows > SCIB's > Meadows in recent years?

Never really gave a reason apparently but I presume he wanted to win a flag one more time. Yeah played for SCIBS in 04 led them to a flag then played for meadows for 2 or 3 years around 2008, then back to SCIBS for the previous 3 years before his move back to meadows this year.

Played for Langhorne Creek in 2011/12 season, losing the Grand Final to Nairne then disappeared without a reason back to SCIB in 12/13 i think?

Reckon he had 2 years in Grade Cricket in about 2005/6 as well.

Yeah played A grade at the bay after his first year at SCIBS. He was scary quick in his 2004 year at Scibs wasn't fun to face.

TVCA ladder at xmas:

Gumeracha (119*) Only loss was in round 1 to Paracombe. Will miss C. Sumner for next few months but have depth to cover him.
Lenswood (103) The surprise packet so far after some lean seasons. Greater depth. Tougher draw after xmas.
Palmer (99) Recently knocked off Cambrai to repeat last year’s GF result. Sitting top in the B grade, so plenty of talent around.
Eden Valley (73*) Typical of EV they have been fairly inconsistent, with a win against Palmer but a loss to Springton. Tough run home.
Cambrai (71*) Keeping in touch with the top 4, and given their friendly draw after xmas should make it.
Paracombe (70) Back to back losses to Lenswood and Gum, followed by a bye and then an abandonment have halted their early season progress.
Mt Torrens (38*) Showed some fight to avoid another outright v EV.
Springton (36) Win against EV the highlight. Seem to have trouble fielding a steady line-up
Birdwood (22) Another disappointing year for the Bulls, which may get harder with some apparent departures after xmas.

* team has a bye remaining

Palmer, Gumeracha, Cambrai and Paracombe the top 4 in the B’s. Cant see that changing.

End of Season Ladder prediction

Semi Finals

Nairne v Creek at Nairne

Strath v Woodside at Strath

Well it looks as if my prediction after Round 2 back in October will be pretty close to spot on.
Bottom 3 should remain in that order.
Creek inflicting Nairnes' 1st loss for the season in a thriller under lights at the Creek Sat night have seen
Woodside go to top. Expecting Nairne to regain it b4 seasons end tho with Woodside finishing 2nd.
3rd and 4th could still go either way.

Well done to the Creeks after 3 years of being flogged to regroup and show last seasons T20 title was no fluke by progressing through to the Grand Final of the Country Living Homes Twenty 20 Champions Cup against South Augusta to be played on Adelaide Oval on March 6th.
They Qualified by beating Noarlunga and Western Districts At Rapid Bay in November and then Millicent and Loxton (in a super over after scores were tied) at the Creek on Sunday.

Well done to the Creeks, great effort.

TVCA up against AEHCA tomorrow. Nobody from Nairne in the AEHCA team which I thought was interesting.

I believe the TVCA line-up is Rathjen (c), Woollard, Paech (Palmer), Kavanagh, Dutschke (Gumeracha), Snoad, Westrych (Lenswood), Grieger, Eichler (Cambrai), McArdle, Medlow, Barnes (Paracombe), Roesler (Eden Valley)

Cam Sumner the most notable absentee.

So you are saying that K. Heinrich, J. Tait, D. Walters, M. Harden & M. Hein, trialled but were not selected???

The A&EHCA Squad was formed by clubs nominating players that they thought were capable at this level and importantly AVAILABLE to play. The Nairne players that were nominated to trial were
E. Wright
N. Williams
C. Harrop
K. Heinrich
L. Harrowfield
M. Hein (Was a maybe)

Nairne have 4 of the Top 11 run scorers in A Grade, those being Shaun Tait, Kym Heinrich, Jarrad Tait and Luke Timmins
Only 1 of them was nominated but obviously must have become unavailable.

Harden, Walters and Jarrad Tait are clearly their 3 main wicket takers. Obviously unavailable
Mitch Hein has only played 2 games
Harrowfield only the 1 game
So take those off the available list and that leaves 3 who obviously didnt get selected on form or they also became unavailable?

Saw a bit of HCA v TVCA on Sunday. 230 was always going to a steep ask for TVCA to chase down, but they managed to give themselves a chance going into the dying overs. Ultimately fell 15 short though. A reasonable effort across the two days from TVCA despite not picking up a win. (lost by 1 wicket v AEHCA on Saturday)

Very Creditable effort against the last 2 winners of the Shield.
Good to see some close competitive games which isnt always the case in this comp.
