Hazlewood is the one we persist with, I think. The one we eyeball and ask him WTF is going on is "I might retire any time now" Johnson. Either you're all in, or you're not.

We need some stability around Starc who, despite his cracking start to the summer is hardly what you would call cemented in the side. He's only established himself in the last 3-6 months. He's not a 5 year main stay of this unit just yet.

So Starc leads the attack, Hazlewood gets persisted with as the grunt bowler ( I think we can all agree he has the balls to plod away for 4-5 spells a day ) and then we work out who comes in for Johnson, if he is indeed ready to pull the pin.

Taylor out for 290. Now he can get back out in the field and chase (numerous replacement pieces of) leather for a day and a half.

Big hour or so coming up. If they can have us 5/ or 6/ by tea and we're only 30-40 in front, massive chance to be 1-1 playing with a pink ball next week!

Touching a touchy subject because his one of 'our' boys and ill back him in everytime but discussion points during a sunday session at the pub yesterday brought up some of these questions.

How do people view Lehmann performance as coach??

Home form has been great, away form as awful as ever.

Side looks worse now than when he started, Smith, Warner, Hazelwood, Starc and Lyon look like the only test players to have prospered and turned into 'certs' during his reign.

Bit harsh, don't think he's done a bad job.. and there have been a few players either break down, retire or fall out of form as well during his time which has seen the side change a lot.

Hughes
Haddin
Watson
Rogers
Pattison
Cummins

Others I've missed?

Also I wonder how much input CA have in the side - they always seem keen to push the agenda of their favourites..

He would barely be given a pass mark, IMO.

Big test for him and the rest of the team in this period of renewal.

Great knock. Hopefully he stays at 3 indefinitely now. Best batter in the team should set the scene of the innings.

How's the commentary, its as if Kerry packer is still alive and in the ear pieces telling the commentary team to remind the viewers every 3 minutes this game could go either way. This game will be a draw. The total wickets in this game is 17 over 4 days and 3 or 4 of them where dead set thrown away in the first Aussie dig.
