Buy a Lions membership and help out if you're that interested.

We paid a coach, who also played - counts IMO. We sponsored players by waiving fees for subs, shorts, socks. We also chipped in to help with some moving costs. We also found work for a few players.
They're all "payments" in my book. Incentives, payments, lures, carrots whatever.

Hopefully in the long term this leads to an exit from NEMJFA too. Bloody ridiculous distance to travel for young kids games in a City/Suburban comp

Nope, that will never happen, they have too many grades in the NEMJFA, although not ideal, the NEMJFA really needed to zone when they accepted the CDJFL.
Could've played north ve south association matches and had a game the week after all of the Grand Finals with the winners of each division playing off for a "Champion's Cup", well that's my two bobs worth anyway as the merge affected me as a coach and an umpire.

Boy o boy have they got some work to do then. APFL would be what - Div 3? Div 4?
If they go in with the same side as this year they'll get beat by 40 goals every week.
and that's no disrespect at all, so would we probably.

Agree, I've been part of Angle Vale v PNU matches that have been played at 6:30 on a Friday Night.
Any coach/parent who is involved with the away team and works full time has not a hope in hell of getting there for report time. I would have thought some common sense could be used.

Some of the NEMJFA programming is pure snot, no disrespect to you guys but travelling to Walkies or PNU for a 6:30pm Friday night game is crazy for any side that isn't east of the city, I think they look at kilometres rather than traffic.
I don't envy the task but I think some feedback from people that have to try and commute might help.
