The last match between these sides was a draw.
Am assuming Retzlaff will be out, while a loss could signal Thommo's last game.
Could it also be 'Alfie' Jenner's last game?
I think we can win, but do we believe we can? Self-belief is a key for Centrals if we are to rise up the table again.
A win by five points.

Interesting very rare stat. Bays play the Crows and last time they met the game was also a draw.

Congrats Doggies, Paul Thomas still racking them up. Would rather be playing South next week than Centrals.

Bad luck Panthers fell over at the last hurdle due to injuries, hopefully you can get back in the finals again next year.

UUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOGGGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSSSSS. Bad luck to South. We are fit, very flexible. match up against them all. Play down Roys record, say that anyone could have coached them to premierships, but he has stuck to guys who demonstrate character, passion for the club and sticking to the rules. The Mighty Bulldogs, that's what they like to call us. Bring on the Redlegs.

Well done to centrals on winning 5th spot but you only got their because a club who should have been sitting in 3rd spot had its season Ruined by
injury and still won more games than it lost. Than you add the fact our 2nd game against Adelaide got Postponed which meant we faced a much stronger Adelaide outfit than we would have originally face .Centrals than got to face Adelaide in their 1st game back after Phil Walsh death in which players affected by his death would have been playing.

Plus we lost a game to West by 1 point with a goal over the back in last 20 seconds after leading by 4 goals at 3Q time and The Draw earlier in season between South and centrals happened because of the exact same scenario.

South not quite good enough when it mattered. Struggled for most of the day before booting 6 of their 10 goals in the final term to tease the supporters. Had a few other opportunities go begging in the final term that needed to be taken advantage of, given there was no room for error by that stage.

Congrats to Centrals on making the finals, hope you can go on and win it. Given South spent all but 1 or 2 weeks in the top 5 this season it's especially disappointing to miss out though.

A few of our guys were exposed today, as ideally 6-8 of them would be playing ressies. No excuses though, when the game was there to be won our skill level and decision making (and game-plan?) was poor.

Irra, Crabb, Seccull, Overall (4 goals), Bass and Rose named in the best. Cross being kept to just 2 (!) kicks and 17 handballs a rare sight and obviously crucial. Will win the Knuckey Cup by a large margin.

A terrific crowd I thought today (unusual saying that these days...) especially for a TV game, certainly a lot of South fans seemed to come out of the woodwork (where were they all season?!), while the Doggies fans turned out in force. Some good banter under the shelter at times.

After last season's September run it's bitterly disappointing not to be involved this year. Hopefully we can retain the bulk of our list, add some (healthy) recruits and see a few youngsters make their mark in 2016. "What might have been..." best sums up 2015...

No excuses. Doggies were better on the day and deserve their shot at finals. There were a number of games that we should have won, but didn't. Hopefully the players will be hurting over the summer and be stronger next year because of this.

Yes, we should have played a depleted Adelaide, yes, we should have beaten Westies in the first encounter, yes, we should have beaten the doggies at the ponderosa. We didn't! And now we get to be September spectators...again. We need to recruit better than we did at the end of last season and come back stronger. We have an excellent coach and a good core group of players, but it still needs to be converted into results on game day .

Unfortunately injuries cost South a chance of giving the flag a track, hopefully they'll hold onto most players especially no Brad Gotch has been extended and give it a crack. Very unlucky 'thers. Heads up.

Congratulations Centrals on making the finals. Absolutely outplayed us in the first three quarters, were a lot more hungrier and if not for letting us out of jail a couple of times with some errant kicks going forward, could have easily led by 10 goals at three quarter time. Seven points wasn't a true reflection of the contest and it was amazing that we could have stolen it given there was 1:35 left at the last bounce after trailing by 25 at the 25-minute mark.

It seemed unjust pre-game that we would lose 5th spot to a side that hasn't been in the five all year. But when we got to within a kick and a bit with less than two minutes to play, it seemed even more unjust that we could scrape a draw and take back 5th spot.

Potter was all over Cross for the majority of the game. Crossy came good in the last quarter but it was too little, too late. Goodrem, despite being 10+ cm smaller, gave Eddy a bath who, for a large part of the game, looked disinterested and out of sorts. Spent the first 10 mins of the second half on the pine.

Jarrod Schiller was annoyingly good in his 100th. Won some crucial clearances and laid strong tackles all day. Our ability to hold tackles today was disappointing

We had some absolutely critical defensive errors today that were costly. Edmead kicked one in the last (really, it was the sealer) after Irra (who tried hard to run and create all day) missed a tackle and slipped over 20 from his defensive goal. Nathan Daniel dropped a regulation mark on the defensive side of the wing that led to a second-quarter goal. Pat Kerin took a strong defensive mark in the last quarter and a good long-range goal late in the game, but put in a couple of soft efforts that led to Dogs' goals too.

We were just beaten by a really hungry side. And if they play like this next week against Norwood, I can easily see them making the second week of the finals.

As a side note and a positive for Centrals fans, Dallas Hill was excellent imo for the Dogs in the reserves today. Kicked 4.2 from 18 disposals and 8 marks (5 were contested, the other 3 were from leads). Tom Stevens found a bit more form with 37 disposals and 11 clearances while Jackson O'Brien had 18 disposals and 7 clearances too.

Potter, Barmby and Goodrem got the awards for the club tonight and Hill and Stevens in the Reserves.

Really happy we won. Really wasn't sure how this group would handle the expectation of today's game.

Not sure we can win next week, but you've got to be in it to win it!

Credit to Centrals - was most impressed with their pressure, run and work rate.

I don't know what the official crowd was but it was an excellent crowd and the carparking across the road was full.
I've ever seen so many Bulldog supporters at HO and kudos for them to have made that long trek.

I think South need to hold on to their core players such as Cross, Liddle, Eddy etc , have the recruits such as Ben Darrou overcome their injuries, recruit a few more ( IMO we lack some real pace despite a plethora of small players), and our game plan needs some tinkering - at the moment too much wastefulness and very indirect approach - we don't get enough inside 50s as reward for our efforts.

Disappointing that both clubs couldn't have been in a position to stick around and do some damage come September, so, commiserations to South.

There has been very little between these two sides over the past couple of years with now four (?) games on the trot with less than nine points between them. South just falling short despite a fight back after about the 24 minute mark to shrink the margin from 25 to the final seven points, a period of play that would have had a few more 'Dogs fans besides my good self more than a little concerned. But, our blokes had enough on the board in the end.

Thommo, a solid captain's game. Goodrem an outstanding game on Eddy, held him to just 2 goals. Habel, Edmead, cool under pressure. Barmby just keeps going and going. TC and Muzz, a solid four quarters. Potter, good again, as were the Schiller boys with 42 disposals between them. Mabon has a bright future. I've missed plenty of contributors here so a big 'well done' to all.

Good to be back in September action again, for the obvious reasons, as well as putting a lid on a few around our own Club that had us as September spectators only a few weeks ago. Naturally, humble apologies from all of us at the CDFC to the one or two predictable folk on this eminent site that didn't get their wish in that regard. :)

We're under no illusions as to the challenge that lay ahead, starting with the 'Leggies. That said, four quarters of the CDFC's best is good enough to cause any of the other four sides a few headaches.
