Even more reason not to quit then. He knows it will be his last job, nice little retirement fund

It'll be worse next week at the SCG.

But seriously, that's the problem. If we sack him we have to pay him out. So he's not going to walk. We paid out Ratten for an extra year on his contract, so the club are hesitant to move on Malthouse at an extra cost to the club.

AND then we have to pay for someone to fill the void too. So say we've expected 1.1 mill on a coach, we'd have to pay 1.1 mill PLUS whatever it took to replace him. That for a club that's going backwards in revenue and membership.....

You're really only paying for the replacement coach, you would pay the rest whether you sack him or not

Bomber just made $30m from his property sales, think he would be quite happy not to get back into coaching. Has been attending Essendon trainings a few times a week mentoring a few guys

****cut away to the inside of Carlton’s boardroom*****

Inside the carlton board room, Trigg and Laguidice are talking about strategy’s on whether to reappoint or sack ‘Mark, I think it’s easy, what we do is decide this the mans way”. “Triggy, what do you mean?” “Well, on one hand you write S and on the other hand you write R. Then hold them behind your back and don’t tell me which one you wrote what on”. “Ok Triggy”.

Triggy points to Mark’s left hand “Eeeny” (points to Mark’s right hand) “Meeny”, the charade continues till the final “moe”. Mark reveals his right hand which says “S”. “Oh sh1t Stephen, it says S”. “Ok Mark, well do you wanna do best of three”?

They decide over a hot milo to man up and tell Mick. “How do you want to tell him?” “Mark, I’ve got an idea, what I want you to do is write M on one hand and S on the other”……..

The way Trigg has been openly fueling the speculation in the media with his comments has been bery poor for a CEO in my opinion. Yes Mick has bee struggling but Trigg has managed to undermine him via je media. Hence its clear Mick will be gone soon as now the environment is toxic.

Which I believe is pretty poor from Carlton. I know they are going badly and Mick is clearly not the but this could of been handled better.

Carlton are a joke, the fact they hired trigg speaks volume of the people in charge there.... I for one don't think mick should be sacked, you can only polish a turd so much... The media have also been very ordinary through this aswell.

saying that, probably go out and beat the swans this friday night  :(

I don't think that Mick's "old school" approach works with today's footballers, it's a similar head vain popping style that has seen Rodney Eade turn the Suns from competitive to limp.

After last season, I didn't think injuries were an excuse for poor performance. And yet...Adelaide and Gold Coast are trotting out the line.

C'mon, if you've got any balls you'll sack me....

Given the events of the last week it is as if Mick wants out and he keeps loading the bullets into the gun, but Carlton just won't fire it

But maybe they will today...

UPDATE: CARLTON executives will meet at lunchtime today to decide whether to sack Mick Malthouse.

The Herald Sun understands the meeting was called after Malthouse’s outburst at the board on radio this morning.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If they're going to sack him just don't do it the week before they play the Crows. Carlton will be a shoe in if they did that and we cant afford a loss to Carlton

They've been poop all year, I knew the injury toll was going to get a mention, it's interesting how sides that struggle for form end up getting hit with the most injuries too.
They have now dug a hole that they can't get out of this year, losing Prestia is huge, they only really have one solid on-baller left.

Judging by a mate's Facebook posts, everyone in the club right now is finding this situation pretty tough.
It would be like a siege in there at the moment.
