For me port seem to have lost that outside run that made them so dangerous.

Wingard, Polec, Hartlett, westhoff, white broadbent and pittard all seem to be quite inconsistent this year.

Im glad Paddy is also playing lazy laconic football at Port and it wasnt just us he ran around half arsed for. 1 top 10 B&F finish in 9 years at an ordinary club sums him up really

Result doesn't surprise me, when the focus goes from club/team to an individual like it did last week this is going to happen.

Excuses and reasons are poles apart.
There's something missing and there's plenty of passengers going along for the free ride.

Port have gone from the hunters to the hunted. Teams woud have put a lot more work into Ports game plan etc over the off season. I also heard a stat that Port have only won 1 last quarter for the year which would be concerning since the hype around fitness. Don't think its panic stations quite just yet as Port are only 1 game out the 8 (Some supporters on social media seem to think its season over).

Also don't underestimate the loss of Phil Walsh, i remember when Dean Bailey got suspended, Sando was cooked. In saying that Voss isn't a bad replacement.

Wasn't that this teams strength last year?

Home games with Richmond, Bullies and Cats in the next month will tell the story, all teams that will be vying for the same spot in the 8 come years end I would have thought. After that block they are away more than home with only Carlton, Essendon and Gold Coast games where you would pencil in a win.

1st/ 5-1-1
2nd/ 4-0-3
3rd/ 1-0-6
4th/ 1-1-5

Only 2 of 14 quarters won in the 2nd halves :shock:

Yes mate, and have mentioned it several times. Thus far it's just not remotely looked like working (which isn't to say it can't in the future). Time for Ryder to have a run with the Magpies? Schultz, Lobbe, Westoff and Trengrove seems to be all the talls you need for the right balance, with several other players (Hombsch, Jonas, Wingard etc) in the side that play tall.

What is worrying for Port Adelaide apart from their performance on the field - it's the negative rubbish comments their "supporters" flood Facebook with after a loss.

On the PAFC FB site last night and supporters are tearing shreds off players, the club and some even calling for Hinkley's head :shock:

That's most supporters mate. We can be an impatient and fickle lot at times. Any calls to get rid of Hinkley are just purely ridiculous and coming from people that either have zero idea of the game, or that need to have some downtime before posting whilst pissed off.

Looking at the player performance this year, total disposals for Port and there is a massive reliance on Boak, Ebert, Gray, Hartlett & Wingard thru the mids, it then drops away dramatically compared to other top 8 clubs. Seems the next level needs to step up in White, Mitchell, Krakouer, Broadbent.

Even Cornes is Top 8 in disposals with one less game than the others, so he will need to be replaced obviously.

I'd say it's a reflection on the amount of running back and forth with the game plan being implemented, unless it's a decoy for a plan B that gets executed later on in the season they will struggle to make the 8 at this stage.
