This is pretty ordinary really!!

Surely this week with Premier League over, clubs would have an abundance of players, similar to TTG we have players missing a game this week due to having spares.

Is this a sign that the D Grade may be on its last legs?

To the clubs that sit on their hands and do nothing yes. It is essential that you have a good junior program to get the flow of kids coming through to the seniors.

Also, this round of Grade Cricket will be a stronger competition than the last 2 rounds of Premier League

Well with the redbacks to name their shield squad next week and the 2nd XI game on Monday as well.

Was a nightmare trying to sort out batting orders and team balance last night.

Any word from Woodville that this is a once off or could it be a regular occurance?? They made 3/305 last week

Why because some clubs cant get their act together and put a genuine pathway in place for their juniors into senior cricket?

Exactly. Some clubs are actually turning away players. Not completely because injuries and general unavailability (******* schoolies  )

16white should be U15, it makes sense as a path of progression. The 16white players improve dramatically over the season as they mature mentally and physically. If clubs are running things properly there shouldnt be anymore than 1 max 2, 15year olds in the whites grade.

16 Whites is a tough one. Some clubs would have heaps of junior teams in their zone to choose from - schools, turf clubs. Other clubs wouldn't have many at all. Same with the country zones. Some clubs might be linked with the hills or Barossa and the kids can play grade cricket every week. If you're 2-3+ hours from Adelaide though realistically you're not going to travel down every week. Wouldn't think the Eyre Peninsula kids would play many games.

It's apples and oranges.

That said, it would be good to see more flow of players between clubs. There must be some kids at Sturt or Gullies or Glenelg who have strong juniors who don't get regular games or maybe get cut altogether that could do well at one of the clubs with thin junior numbers.

It would actually be good for their cricket too. They might get heaps more chances and improve quickly at a smaller club than if they were squad player 29 at a bigger club, only playing occassionally.
This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!

To be fair to Woodville they got their junior area raped by WT when boundaries were changed a few years back. They have got a pretty small metro area where not much cricket has been played. I'd be putting it back on the SACA development staff to work harder with the clubs.

You hear a lot about there being too many teams, but maybe there are too many grades?

Mind you Woodville could just hang out at the Gillespie Centre and pick up all the decent kids in the SACA 19s like TTG are.

Better be careful, Footy Smart will fight back with comments like that!

Makes his comment about Clubs getting their act together etc look a bit hypocritical!

They have poached Hutchinson from WT and Page from Bays, both from Under 19 State squad, know Sleepy had lots to do with poaching Hutchy.

On WT zone, actually have the smallest zone of any Club, just work harder in those zones than lots of Clubs.
