Huge interest in this, in the past the Margarey would have had at least 10 pages of SAFooty dedicated to it

Yeah, was thinking the same last night, when there was only me and a handful of other registered users online. Typically MM night was one the busier nights for this forum.

Year Replies
2013 - 164
2012 - 286
2011 - 323
2010 - 540
2009 - 238

The years 2006 to 2008 had a few different threads about the Magarey; even the most popular one have outdone this one:

2008 - 96 (pick the winner) This was the first year that no TV station covered the medal and when the forum went down due to overload
2007 - 62
2006 - 100

Take out the "No AFL in the SANFL whinge" topic and I reckon it would have substantially lessened I would have thought Phil.

Certainly less discussion on match related issues. And for the record, I too had a much lesser interest in the MM this year. Checked Twitter at about 10:30 or so and quickly flicked through the round by round updates. Used to love watching the TV telecast "back when I were a lad"!

I think someone at the SANFL has stuffed up if North has been given no points for a draw. I have just looked at the Lewis trophy for other years and points for a draw were always split between the two clubs.
In 2011 Norwood won with 2725 points having had 14 league wins, 13 reserves wins and 13 under 18s wins and 1 draw.
I think that it is an insignificant trophy but clearly someone at the league doesn't or can't follow the rules.

The SANFL has now advised that North has won the Stanley H Lewis Trophy on "count back". I guess it is something to go into our trophy cabinet but I would much prefer the T S Hill trophy. At least the SANFL have realised their initial error.

Nice, when the club announced on facebook it was equal winner I pointed out your info rig about draws being counted before, first they told me I was wrong but then they looked in it for me.
Sorry about that Eagles.

Glad the trophy went to the rightful winner.

First time in the 53 occasions since this trophy was first awarded in 1962 that the winner didn't play league finals.

Congratulations to North Adelaide, history makers 2014.

Congratulations to North Adelaide, history makers 2014.

Shows what an even season it has been.

Also the eventual winner is very unlikely to have a premiership in any grade. I would expect that would be a first as well.

Trust North to be history makers in that regard.
