Cheers mate.

Playing in the comp I was pleasantly surprised with nature the game was played in. I was expecting a grumpy old men like scenario but it was the exact opposite and I really enjoyed it even had quite a few beers with a heap of blokes I've never meet before after the game.

I played with 2 blokes who are off 8 and 10 respectively and I swear I played better being around better players as stupid as that sounds I'm currently playing off 20.4

Can't wait to go around again.

Yep I find the same. I play better with low handicapp golfers. Beers afterwards are a bonus.

Don't worry, they are out there. I was on a cart path and took a few steps back to see where the pin was (as i had to play the shot over trees) and was quite firmly reminded that it was a club length (which I knew) from the path...worst part was, the guy wasn't even in my group!

Yeah I agree that if you play with low handicappers you also tend to play better.

I had a hit with a mate who plays off 6...The good thing was I was able to get tips during the round

best golf lesson ive had and I need them!!!!

Best thing is you don't have to ask questions, just observe and they don't even realise that you are doing it.....

Yeah 10k hours is the commonly accepted about of time you need to "master" a skill.

If he practices 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, it will take him around 7 years 8 months to get good!

He's just over half way through the plan and is alredy a 2 handicapper. I have followed him from the very beginning and it is quite impresive.

Worst case scenario is he plays on the web.com tour and gets a few sponsor invites to a few tournaments and then plays on the senior pga for a few years.

If he does make it, once/ if he gets his cards the sponsors will be lining up for him.

Speaking of lessons does anyone know a place where have them and an approx. cost?

I really need to get rid of this slice off my Driver. I feel the rest of my game is going ok but off the Tee I have a bad slice. I have tried a heap of tips from a range of people but I think I should just get a couple of lessons to sort it out.

I Goggled golf lesson and there are a heap of them but does anyone know of the better ones around?

I have only had lessons with the club pro at thaxted..

Go on to iseekgolf and have a look at what people are saying on there. it is a forum i frequent quite a bit and you get some decent info from them.

on a side note, weather is going to be perfect on friday for a swing down at willunga! may even have to pull the shorts out... 8)

Good luck with the driver straightening Carey. Not going to be easy as I'm told the mechanics of that swing is different than an iron swing.....
