Played North Haven this afternoon. Was very disappointed, such a poorly presented/maintained golf course. Something that you would expect to find in a small country town somewhere.

Was the 1st hit for about 3 weeks and it showed at times.. was good little blow out though before 36 holes next Sunday  :Hangman:

Not sure how that will end up, playing 2 rounds at 2 different courses in the same day...

Should be able to expect that the course would be mowed, greens would be covered with turf, or at least have work being done to rectify the bare spots.

Massive bare areas on tee blocks is unacceptable. The course layout itself is fine, greens on the smaller side than ideal.

It would take a lot to get any of our group to go back there, not even the 2 for 1 vouchers we have will get us back there.

i played there a couple of months, and agree that some of the greens were looking pretty bare. looks like they havent got it under control, or got worse.

If you like North Haven, I would strongly suggest you give Regency Park a go. All the greens are back in play, with nicer fairways and bigger greens. And is cheaper for 9 holes than Haven

Might have to soon.

Kapunda is the best 9 hole course going around though imo. Along with penfield.

I'll be trying to head out on either day of this weekend. Even if it is for a range session.

*I will be going for a stroll around Royal Thaxted at some point on Sunday.

Yes and no. I am very happy that they are making changes around the course, but while they are doing it the course is being affected. There is no fairway on the 2nd, the 8th is a great new par 3, but there are parts of the green that aren't taking well. But, the course has been getting a lot of water over summer and is in quite good condition considering.

I won't be paying full price for a membership when I could go up the road to the vines for around the same price. $45 for a round on Sunday is a bit steep for the public too.
