The Melbourne Tigers have announced that veteran forward Tommy Greer has retired.

A bit surprised by that I thought he could've played another 1-2 seasons.

Not sure what is happening with Ervin mate but good to hear Anthony Petrie & Brendan Teys have both re-signed with the 36ers.

Great to see Mitch back on board. Really need to land another class import to take the next step or two if Ervin isn't returning. ennis and beal were the difference. Desperately need a quality outside shooter. Goulding is a Wa*k , couldn't see him getting a roster spot in the NBA . Look forward to hating him again next year if he doesn't go elsewhere overseas

I've got a feeling the 36ers might be trying to strong arm Ervin into a pay cut. I'd be alright with him coming back and another half decent lucky dip import which unfortunately didn't turn out to be Frye. Everything hinges on what DJ decides to do once he gets back from Puerto Rico, back with us or Europe next season. Goulding is a knob but he'll certainly get NBA interest with the season he had including scoring 50 points in a 40 minute game.

There are certainly worse players in the NBA than Goulding but as Delly showed with the Cavs this season it's all about timing & opportunity.

But what role could you see him playing Gozu ? He's not a PG and to be honest I can't see him being productive at that level. He would play the 2 but doesn't have the explosive speed and at 6'4 would be coming up against bigger guys. Everyone at that level can run off screens and hit shots.

I could see Goulding playing as a SG/SF. Even though only 6'4" he's really athletic and does just that comes off of numerous screens and elevates. Iverson had no problem getting shots off in the NBA and he's 4 inches taller and dare I say more athletic than he was. The question really is will he get the opportunity? NBA coaches don't start gearing their offences around scrubs and end of the bench guys unless they know or think you're up to it so he would need to impress in summer league/training camp before he would really get an opportunity in the NBA to show what he can do.

Different player sure but Gaze never got an opportunity to shine at NBA level but used to dominate against every country and lead the Olympics in scoring.
