No one within the 'Farm is shocked, a lot of self belief and confidence in the side, structures and game plan that Schelly is implementing. Everyone is buying into it and I think that's half the battle.

The team is actually quite different, we had plenty of last seasons premiership players across the B and C grade this week, the biggest difference is we have recruited for purpose not for the sake of it, and have filled areas we felt we were perhaps lacking in last season.

Still a couple to return to the A & B grade so should put some real competition on spots.

Fitzroy were good, Ingle Farm jumped out the blocks with one of the best 1st quarters i've seen us produce and that proved the difference. I would still rate Fitzroy top 3.

A lot of the points made by PG are correct.
Also had a couple of guys coming back from pretty serious injuries last year who were always going to be better this season ;)
The work rate this year has been up significantly from last year, which might mean we never actually saw what last year's side was capable of.
Certainly not getting carried away, it's only one result in a long season & it means nothing if we go out & get pumped this week.

I think Fitzroy will continue to improve as they start fully developing their game style. The rolling zone, certainly takes some getting used to, but at times they showed how successful it can be. Especially when they get on the smaller confines of Fitzroy oval.

got to see the second half of the mawsons v parkies game on saturday
first game i have watched for a couple of years and must admit loved being at local footy again to see the passion, commitment and love of the game that local footy brings
wont comment on the actual game but would like to say that both clubs, players, supporters and officials did them self proud and more importantly showed great respect and humility to each other
mawsons showed a professionialsm and cappacity to play the game, but more importantly to all concerned, they new the game was won the moment they turned up but in no way did they show arrogance or lack of respect for there very over welmed opposition
parkies showed that you never give up and fight for every bit of pride and respect you can recieve and in that they passed in spades
well done to scooter on his first A Grade coaching job and even though its going to be a long year you showed great poise and control and if you are not already you soon will be one of the best coaches in the division, whether the results come or not
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

Different style of game, no dig at all. Knowlesly style of game served well and got the results. Schelly has a completely different style which requires a different work rate and effort.

Neither is right or wrong, both have shown some success.

winning a flag cant be wrong .........if anything there is more pressure on schell to get a good result in div 6 and show the club has improved they knocked of fitzory a side that is tipped to finish top 3 ........not sure how the big man from fitzory is gonna go if he isnt trainning yes he got 4 goals but failed to chase or leave a 15m radius of his position :)

How do you figure that, they've played one side who may struggle against a lot of sides!

Who is the lad that coaches Central Uniteds Bgrade? He came up to me before the game shook my hand and said good luck today . I cant remember that happening too often at all, just the usual after the game. Seemed like a nice lad.

Beau Schulz I believe is coaching Central United's B Grade, would be 30ish. Coached our D Grade the last few years.

Michael O'Brien is a Salisbury man who went across with Beau to give him a hand, would have been one of the two.
