Looking back at what happened to one of my childhood playmates, Dominic Marafiote, and his family, I guess you are probably right.

An Australian who says he's lived in Bali for 15 years contacted The Age several times to say his children were frequently offered marijuana called "Aussie gold". The man, who refused to give his name, said the "hydroponic bud" smuggled from Australia sells for $A600 an ounce (about $A21 a gram) or as much as $A20,000 a kilogram.

No idea if Corby had hydro or not.

Other sites saying about $20 a gram..she had what 4kg?

Street value (police etc.) vs what it is worth as found. Had the potential to be worth more, but then it's speculation.

P. S. Prices in Bali aren't much different to here in Oz.

Dominic Marafiote and I were around 11 years old when his family bought the market gardening property at St Kilda - I was a little older and may have been nearly 12. My father used to help his parents with their tax returns until he started to get concerned about how legitimate their deduction claims were...

We didn't meet again until I was in my late 30s when both our fathers were in the QEH at the same time.
Next thing I heard of him was that his parents were found dead on the farm and his headless body turned up in Melbourne.

I do! I've got more energy, probably because I don't spend half my time lying on the couch too hungover to do anything productive. I also got a new job as an academic editor and if I was still drinking, I wouldn't be able to do it - it's bloody demanding. (I'm not sure why I got the job in the first place - I think they thought I had a Ph.D, because it says so on my CV and then 'in progress' in small font. 8-[ )

And yeah, Mr McSpaz is dry as well - he's been sober longer than I have, cos I had a couple of beers at a mate's wedding in January. He's got back into his long-distance running and he's a bloody machine!

Can't see us wanting to drink again - I sincerely hope not, anyway. It would've ruined the family the way things were going. As it is now, the kids are happy, they've got a home they feel safe in; work's going well, we're saving money, and my writing's on track too. I had a publishing house express interest last year but I don't think I was prepared to do what they expected of me - they wanted me to expand and rewrite some areas, which I was doing anyway, but I couldn't meet their deadlines and I was feeling at sea with a lot of other things. Last year was the worst of my life. Better things for the future, I hope.

Fisho is about to cry. Worked till 2am, started again at 9, took a break in the arvo only to realise I had a real estate writeup due (another of my various jobs) and now eight more pages of dementia-clothing-analysis to edit and I have to pick up my youngest in 15 minutes and OH MY GOD Simply Red just came on the music channel so we're cool now, we're cool. :supz:

PS. I'm sorry, but my gran has dementia. She doesn't mind what she wears. She doesn't notice what she wears. I'm not being facetious; I'm being truthful. So I don't really understand the relevance of a whole designer collection of clothes marketed to that demographic.
