2014 AFL Season Guide & Mein Kampf.
One is about the most evil regime the earth has ever seen and other is about Adolf Hiltler.

The Paul Weiss Report

The investigation into the Richie Incognito/Jonathan Martin bullying saga at the Miami Dolphins.

Very interesting.

About a 3rd of the way through it.

*I enjoy reading real investigations about almost anything. This being an NFL investigation just makes it that much more interesting.

Started reading The Wolf of Wall Street last night. Haven't seen the movie. But I think I'll enjoy the book because it'll be able to go into more depth.

Just finished "The Fear Index" by Robert Harris. An excellent read.

Now reading "Eyrie" by Tim Winton. A bit hard going but will persist as he is generally regarded as a good author.

Almost halfway through the Wolf of Wall Street now. Its actually really easy to read. Very well written.

Im glad I haven't seen the movie too, because the picture the words create is of the actual people its about, not Leo and Jonah.

Going to read Catching The Wolf of Wall Street once Im done with this one.

Almost finished Wolf of Wall Street. The narrative is engaging the whole way through, but **** me, it gets full on towards the end. I dont know exactly what they show in the movie, how he describes his coke addiction and what went on in his own head is pretty ****** up.

Once I finish this, I'll be onto Lone Survivor. Gonna read that book before I see the movie as well.

Finished Wolf of Wall Street. Very good book. Im gonna watch the movie soon, but I dont think it'll be able to live up to the book, unless there's a lot of internal monologue with Jordan. I do want to see the nursery scene with his missus....I dont think the movie will do that justice either, but I hope it does.

On to Lone Survivor. I read a fair bit into it last night, and Marcus Luttrell begins by giving his and many others side to the War on Terror. Its nice to hear a different perspective, but it is very "Pro George W Bush" which is to be expected when reading the biography of a Navy SEAL who was born and raised in rural Texas. Good so far, probably smash out a fair chunk of it tonight.

I Am Soldier of Fortune: Dancing with Devils - Robert K Brown with Vann Spencer

This is the biography of Robert K Brown. The founder of Soldier of Fortune magazine.

I didn't know much about this magazine until starting to read the book, but its very interesting. Only a short way in.

Really wanted to LOVE this.

But, um, ah, well, yeah, it's okay... with reservations.

Tonally, it's a nod to Buton's '89 Batman.

But if it wasn't built into the Batman mythology, you'd write it off as a very mediocre procedural.

Probably explains the rush to introduce so many villains in the first twenty pages.

Shame Bruno Heller didn't have more faith in the Jim Gordon character.

This is more in line with Heller's The Mentalist than, say The Wire, which is what I hoped like hell they'd aspire to.

They had no chance at reaching those lofty heights - because that's the greatest television show ever made - but still...
