As an expansion club GWS deserve COLA. As an established club that has recruited the highest profile recruits in successive years, you don't.

i hope we do... So it seems like AFL didn't get there way so they will have a hissy fit and take it away from us...

You can't take a cost of living allowance from one side in a two team town... THEY BOTH LIVE THERE... But the AFL will continue to flog a dead horse like GWS because they want to beat rugby. Should be in tassie.. GWS talent alone will see them playing finals in a few years time anyways...
Just think if they had COLA here and they decided to take it of the crows and let port stil have it...

What is wrong with Sydney trying to hold ground?
Plus I think the AFL wanted Tippett to go to the Gold Coast.

This is my problem with AD's reign

The AFL tried to manipulate to many parts of the game to get what they wanted rather than concerntrate on having an even competition where over time the draft will generally create the natural cycle

I don't think there is any other comp in the world where the head office has manipulated so many different rules for different teams to have 'certain teams' remain/ get strong etc for reasons other than the game

I see you have conveniently forgotten the explanation how Sydney have been able to recruit both players.

This still has the greater football public scratching their head.

Have you seen the greater football public.

One cause of that is clubs wanting to play other clubs twice a year.

I agree. They should be in Tassie. Sydney, they should be in South Melbourne.

With COLA gone id like to welcome the swans to the real competition. Is there going to be an unveiling of the swans without the asterisk next to there name?

If Sydney lose cost of living allowance and then win a premiership (which they would) I'm sure people will find another reason for an asterisk.

We're all aware of retirements etc. The rest of the comp just hopes without the COLA in place you aren't able to keep the midfield at a level that will have the skills to feed the top heavy forward half you have. The likes of Hannebery, Jack (x2) etc will one day put their hands out for more and it wont be there.

It seems likely the top half a dozen paid players in Sydney willl be among the highest in the competition and coin will drop away quickly from there.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

Will be replaced with something else for the players on the lowest pay rate. Absolutely no problem with that. After all, you are only as good as your last player picked.

i would be happy with rookies and first year players getting paid a lot more. the base rate is pretty low

Yep, have no problem with rookies and other low paid players getting a little extra for COL in Sydney.
