Yes it is. It is in Asia.

Hint, this spot was very important with the ending of one of the World's most significant events.

I'm thinking Hiroshima.

No reason why we can't run two at once, is there, JAS :) Put your pic up too.

Good work, you're right, it is in Germany. If you can't get the town (which might be difficult), the area or the well-known name of the route it's on will do.

Nah one at a time is fine...lasts longer that way.

Despite the ancestral roots I don't know Germany at all. I can say it's not Berchtesgaden which is the only place I've been to other than that I've no idea where it is.

You're right, JAS, it isn't Berchtesgarten. :)

It's a small town overlooking a river on a famous tourist route in Germany.?

This one below isn't part of the competition.

I'm looking for an answer from JAS only ;)

heehee me thinks that might be Berchtesgaden...don't remember the name of the mountain though.

We were only there for one day on an excurtion from a holiday in Unken, Austria. Should have been there to visit the Eagle's Nest but despite being mid-August they'd just had the worst rains on record and it was snowed in. All the other tour groups beat us to 'plan B' the saltmine tour so the queues were hours long. We just had a day wandering around the town and pigged out on some heavenly torte's and hot chocolate :D

No idea where that place is R&B, but I wish I'd seen it!! Looks spectacular!

In that case, I think JAS is closest.

It's Rothenburg-ob-der-Tauber, the best known town on the Romantic Road.

Your turn, JAS.

The mountain, of course, overlooks Berchtesgarten.
