Networking Product

Hey lads,

Was wondering, particularly for those in the IT industry (Wedgie, Diss, Dedj etc), which brands/make etc you prefer in your networking devices?

We usually use Netgear when we can source it, as it generally seems well priced and reliable ... Won't touch D-Link with a barge pole.

Be interested in your thoughts.

Cheers,
JK

Depends on the type of device spermy.

I'm assuming you talking about consumer or small business use?

For corporate use, Cisco and HP are king ... everywhere I've worked have been heavy Cisco sites, although I'm interested in HP solutions in my current role.

For the small end of town, unmanaged or dumb switches are dime a dozen ... basically anything will do.

It gets interesting for ADSL modem/routers, with or without wireless, with or without VOIP.

Billion, Netcomm, Netgear and Linksys ... depending on the specs that are required.

For an all you can eat high VOIP/PABX solution I'd strongly recommend the Fritz!Box by AVM ... I'm using the Fritz!Box 7390 at home.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.
