Maybe off or bad attitude, his stats didn't look bad enough to pull the pin this early.

We're also spared hearing Steve Carfino turn his name into a 10 syllable one now.

NBL talks with Andrew Bogut are in limbo as world body FIBA work out an insurance policy that will cover NBA stars during the American lockout.

Gold Coast Blaze, Sydney Kings and Adelaide 36ers had hoped to up the ante in their talks with the Milwaukee Bucks centre this week in a bid to seal 'the most significant signing in the history of the league'.

However, discussions are in limbo until FIBA finds a policy that suits about 60 NBA players - including Bogut - seeking to insure their multi-million dollar contracts so they can play outside the United States.

There's a rumour around now that the Kings might sign Bogut as an assistant coach until/if his insurance clears and then activate him to the roster.

Terrible news for Townsville captain Russell Hinder, who broke his leg in the Friday night game against Gold Coast. Season certainly over, career in jeopardy.

Looks like new 36ers import John Williamson might be in a spot of bother with his leg too. All of a sudden there might be a couple of clubs looking to grab Jacob Holmes off of the shelf.

The Perth Wildcats are currently taking part in the Cable Beach Invitational in Broome on outdoor courts. Aside from the Wildcats the other three teams are the Shanghai Sharks from China, the Singapore Slingers and the Indonesian national team. Supposedly Yao Ming is up in Broome in a promotional role for the tournament.

The tournament has gotten off to a bad start with play suspended in the Shanghai Sharks vs Indonesia game with Shanghai up 45-41 due to a slippery court from condensation and it appears the later Wildcats vs Slingers game has also been cancelled.
