Boston made a late charge at Miami but Bosh is guiding the Heat home.

Cavs beat the Wiz earlier, Kyrie had 29 but Varajeo had 9 pts, 23 rebs and 9 assists.

That's why I stayed well clear of Lakers today, far too patchy during pre season and will need a few weeks to gel.

Kobe off his feet for a week leading into the game, poor preseason and a huge change in players, the Lakers were always going to be unders in this one. If they can go .500 through the first half of the year they'll finish off stronger and have a 50 win season.

Miami look very, very strong. Already showing they can keep Wade, LeBron and Bosh to limited minutes and not lose much. In fact, the unit without either Wade or LeBron on the court was effective. Last season that would never happen. Allen, Haslem, Lewis and Miller off the bench, is there a stronger bench going around?

I've understood why he chose to shoot so much previously. Didn't agree (Gasol is a very, very good inside player) but with Howard there now he needs to be looking to feed the ball in a whole lot more. If he isolates on a wing, instead of the options being fadeaway, drive then pass (in that order) he needs to change that to feed, fake then feed, dribble then feed, then look to shoot. He WILL get open 3 point looks when they double on Pau/Howard on the feed.

Come on do we need to do this every time Kobe apparently is playing injured?

He is out there so no excuse and he shot pretty well regardless

I think the LA Clippers easily match them for bench strength and probably have the best depth in the league - having said that, they are obviously well behind the Heat on the calibre of the starting 5.

I'm no Kobe apologist, but hard to have them red hot favourites when the bloke who has always handled the ball the most has had no preparation. If you don't like hearing simple facts, there's not much I can do.

James Harden at halftime v Pistons:

19 pts, 5 assists, 3 rebounds , 1 block....

Will want to be posting stats like this night after night to justify his $80 million contract!

He has kept it up in the 3rd too. Great start to his Rockets career.

Bulls lead 44-40 at half time in a very ugly game.
