Like brod said, get Bynum involved more and the Lakers will be a better team. He has had a fantastic start to the season.

Kobe always seems to have some kind of 'injury' as well.

I am/was a Shaq fan and it was always quite humorous to me that in his 8 years with the Lakers the Lakers had a better W/L record without Kobe than with him. He's always been a vastly overrated and over-hyped player and is to this day still the same spoilt brat chucker he always was, permanently injured as a ready-made excuse for his failings much like our own Lleyton Hewitt.

I'll never forget what he did to Phil, Shaq, Malone & Payton in '04 chucking them out of that finals series against Detroit, intentionally IMO.

Well it was common knowledge Kobe clashed with Shaq, Phil Jackson & Payton during that season. Kobe was going to be out of contract at the end of that season and he knew he was more important to the Lakers future than Shaq, Phil and the rest were. Phil was also out of contract (Kobe didn't want him to re-sign).

Kobe (as an impending free agent) knew if the Lakers won that series against Detroit it would be pretty hard not to bring a championship team back the following season for another run which I contend is why he hogged the ball so badly in that series, jacking up brick after brick and pretty much refused to pass the ball inside to Shaq. What feeds he got came from Fisher & Payton but was very underutilised in his clear mis-match against the much smaller Ben Wallace. Those three games in Detroit (Games 3,4 & 5) especially was where I thought Kobe was intentionally trying to shoot the team out of it.

What happened after that loss? Shaq got traded to Miami, the very next day Kobe re-signed with the Lakers, Phil wasn't re-signed (and went on to call Kobe 'uncoachable' in his book after that season), Payton was traded (a close friend of Shaq's and berated Kobe in practice during that season) and Karl Malone (also close with Shaq & Payton) sat out the first half of the following season considering retirement, then announced he was going to re-sign with the Lakers only for Kobe to then publicly accuse him of making advances at Kobe's wife so Malone didn't come back and went into retirement.

Kobe the impending free-agent had the decks cleared as he wanted the Lakers to be his team and his team only (career high scoring average the followiing season, new coach Rudy T couldn't handle him took up drinking again and walked out halfway through that season despite being on a 5 year deal never to coach in the NBA again and the team went on to miss the playoffs that year) which is why he made sure they lost that 2004 Finals series against Detroit.

The exact reason why i refuse to speak too highly .... Dont get me wrong the guy is a dead set superstar ...

But i just refuse to have respect for the guy for the fact that he is so selfish. All champion players want the ball in there hand and thrive in situations when the game is on the line. But kobe more so than other greats of the game , when he isnt ON .... continues to shoot the ball and try to make plays that arent there. There are 4 other blokes on the court aswell ... When the commentators regularly bring it up it has to be cause for concern.

Being a miami fan and i know Lebron can be like that at times .... he loves the spot light more than anyone. And that was my main concern when he came accross. And its one of the most enjoyable aspects of the heats game how between LBJ , D Wade and Bosh there is no selfishness in the team and they will continue to feed whoever is feeling it in each game . Which i hope can bring the championship down South this season

LBJ has never been a selfish player, he was well respected at Cleveland due to the fact he would try to get his team mates into the game. Don't put Bosh in the same category as Wade and LBJ. I would still want Lebron to take the final shot if the game was up for grabs.

While were on Kobe, just look at game one vs the Bulls when he took the final shot 3 Bulls took him away from the basket and he still went for the shot and straight after the game finished the commentators highlighted the two open players and I'm sure on of them was Derek Fischer. Whom was more then capable of sinking a two pointer.

There would be many such 'stories' over the nba's history of player selfishness. Players taking way too many shots. Look at starks in the finals in about 95. One could argue that Jordan in his first 6 or so years was also with an average of around 35 ppg when the bulls struggled to be a championship threat. Kobe may well be one. Still a champ of the game and one of the best in history.

A bit surprised Miami lost today, I checked the scores at work and saw they were cruising then next minute it's OT. Both the Bulls and the Heat have lost @ GSW, they are an annoying bastard of a team at times.

Happy with the Bulls win today, Rose was good again... but Rubio also did pretty well. I will watch a bit of a replay tonight to see those two in action, already massively on the Ricky Rubio bandwagon.

Game 1 10/27FG, 1/3 3ptFG, 4 ast
Game 2 14/27FG, 1/6 3ptFG, 7 ast
Game 3 4/13FG, 0/4 3ptFG, 5 ast
Game 4 8/25FG, 2/6 3ptFG, 2 ast
Game 5 7/21FG, 0/2 3pt FG, 4 ast
TOTAL 43/113 (38%) 4/21 (19%)

If he was trying to lose you think he mightve missed a few Free Throws
23/25FT for the series

Sure Shaq couldve had more shots he made 53/84FG (63%)

Yesterday's games give an insight to why Lebron will never be as good as Kobe....

Bryant made six of his seven shots in the fourth quarter. (LeBron James, meanwhile, didn’t take a shot in the fourth quarter and was one for three in overtime of the Heat’s loss at Golden State.

Even with a wrist injury that requires surgery, Kobe is the man.
