One of Australia’s top basketballers, Mitch Creek, has been charged by police with intentionally causing injury and other offences after allegedly assaulting a woman at her Melbourne home.

-

Mr Creek, 28, had been charged on summons with intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault over an incident in Melbourne’s western suburbs on November 22 last year.

-

The charges follow a four-month investigation after a woman in her 20s suffered serious facial injuries. Mr Creek is due to appear before Sunshine Magistrates Court on April 1.

The NBL said on Monday that the league, the Phoenix and Mr Creek had agreed that he would not train or play with his club until further notice, while Basketball Australia investigates the incident.

Innocent until proven guilty, let’s not lose focus of that.
If found guilty then throw the book at him, but until then...

I don't think I ever said he was guilty...just looks like he's in trouble.

NBL basketball will finally be returning to Tasmania on April 6 for the first time in 16 years.

The Hungry Jack’s NBL will return to Tasmania next month when the SKY Sport New Zealand Breakers play the Adelaide 36ers in Launceston as part of a blockbuster Easter round.

The April 6 game at the Silverdome will be the first time the NBL has played a regular season game in Tasmania since 2005. It will be the first of several games featuring the Breakers in Launceston ahead of the Tasmania JackJumpers’ entry into the Hungry Jack’s NBL for the 2021-22 season.

Adelaide have played quite a few more than some. A quieter schedule should help. A couple back from injury as well will help.
