Round 2 complete and the weather conditions have had there say in things. Those players who drew afternoon tee times on Thursday and morning tee times on Friday have had the better of the conditions.

The big leftie Phil Mickelson takes a 1 shot lead into the weekend. At 46, he could become the oldest winner in 100 years. Interesting to hear his post round interview. Phil said he had lost some weight and regained his swing, and can't see why he can't keep his form going on, not only this week, but for some years to come. I must admit he did get a bit porky (pot, kettle, black) there for a while. Good luck to him.

Swede Henisk Stenson returned the best card on Friday with 65, to be one off the lead.

Leaderboard

P. Mickelson -10
H. Stenson - 9
S. Kjeldson -7
K, Bradley -7
Z. Johnson -5
T. Finau -4
B. Haas -4
C. Schwartzel -4
G. Adams -4 (A. Johnson)

I t will be interesting if someone can jump out of the pack in the morning (Saturday) and reel in Mickelson.

Zac Johnson 5 shots back could be the danger. Thought Martin Kaymer was looking good early yesterday, but he faded off the 1st page of the leaderboard.

Sorry chaps... Had a busy day. Stenson has a 1 shot lead over Mickelson going into the last round. The Swede to win from here... Grizzly Adams(Andrew Beef Johnson) best of the rest.

Have to admit, didn't even see the leaders hit off last night, was crashed out on the lounge by 10.30!

From the Open Website....

We witnessed history as Sweden's Henrik Stenson shot 63 for a total of 20-under-par, the lowest 72-score total in Open history.

Stenson and Mickelson traded blows right from the off, with an eagle and eight birdies over the front nine pulling them well clear of the pack.

On the back nine it was Stenson, pinpoint of the tee, clever on the fairways and relentless with the putter, who emerged victorious with a truly astonishing and memorable display of links golf.

Final Leaderboard

H. Stenson -20
P. Mickelson - 17

Daylight

JB. Holmes -6
S. Stricker -5
R. McIlroy -4
T. Hatton -4
S. Garcia -4

I didn't even get out this week, and unlikely to play for a few more weeks... that's life. "Spelling".... in a good paddock as well.

Yeah I didn't know much about the bloke, but sounds like he is a real character. Has a cult like following by the sounds.

Unconventional I think they call him!
