3 people with handicaps around the 20 mark....should be able to get a couple of good shots per hole.

Perfect tomorrow morning, no wind around and the greens should be sticky.

So long as the fairways are extra wide... We'll be in business...

Backed up today following on from yesterday at Mt Osmond. Must say that Mt Osmond was way better than I remember it, was presented in very good nick yesterday , greens were running quick. Today back to my home deck... Started well had a crap patch in the middle of the round. Finished ok to play exactly to handicap... Which to be honest is a couple more than it should be. Golf 2 days straight... Back hurts , legs hurt... Pretty stuffed actually. A few coldies and watch the footy tonight... Great way to recover. Carn the Dogs!!

Ok, to expand on Friday.

Had ourselves a bacon and egg muffin for breakfast, got our shirts ( nice shirts ) and had our mandatory introduction and welcome from the club.

We started on the 14th, a long par 4 and made easy work of it, away with a solid par. Scratched a little from there, a par, a bad bogey on a par 3, a par and then the shot of the day on the 18th. Corona Man from 195 knocks his hybrid ( Yes, Corona? ) to about 20 ft behind the pin on the par 5. Walk off with a birdie.

As we pass the 1st tee, it's tequilas and tacos...a couple of tacos and people regretting driving up there, no tequilas at 10am for us. On the 10th it was oysters and wine. Did the oysters work, Corona? ;)

Solid from here for a while, nobody put the HSV Clubsport in danger on the 4th, pretty good prize on offer if anyone could ace the 170m par 3 4th! ( Nobody did ). From here we didn't fare very well. Mainly pars from here on in, I think we had 2 birdies for the day, 2 bogeys and 1 double bogey. Ended up 2+. The winners, 3 Adelaide Bite players and Nathan Davidson ( one of the coaches ) shot better than -9. The group who came second were -9, confirmed, I don't know what the Bite boys shot but they took home an outstanding trophy. Stood about 5ft high!

A good lunch, salad, steak, snags etc and guest speaker / comic Marty Fields ( Morrie Fields from Hey Hey It's Saturdays lad ). Some good gags, some old classics, not bad but not great.

Highlights -

Corona Mans 190+m hybrid to the 18th, his wedge to the 8th from about 100m that pitched about 50mm from the hole and stuck for a tap in birdie.

mickeys length. Corona hits them pretty well, distance wise, mickey was using 2 clubs less than Corona on most occasions. Although his duff on 13th tee to finish the day was a classic duff.

Booney putted pretty well, nailed a nice birdie on the par 3 beat the course Pro hole. Hit some nice long irons.

Low lights -

Off the tee we struggled, but that's the course, need to be long and straight to make a meal of Mt Osmond. We were one or the other.

What cost us was a bad hole was bad for all of us, which isn't ideal when playing ambrose. The 6th and 12th we made a meal of, the 12th especially.

Apologies to the neighbours shed roof, my 4 iron can usually be trustworthy.

All in all an excellent day out on a very well presented course in perfect conditions.

Haha nice report Boon.... how good is your memory, I didn't see you taking notes! Yes second shot on 18 was my Taylor Made Hybrid, IIRC my gps showed about 190 odd to the centre of the green... that one came out real sweet. We weren't that far off with a couple of the eagle try's.

The oysters....I managed 4 or 5 of them, washed down by a cheeky Riesling while waiting for the group in front to get going. Didn't get to test the theory as Mrs Corona had toddled off the bed, before the Hawks/Tigers game had finished Friday Night!

As for your 4 iron Booney.... I only "heard" it land, I didn't see it. You did make a nice putt there to beat the pro, you should have got the wine, not Bill with his shot in. That hole kind of summed up our day... we all hit good shots onto the green.... when we hit bad shots, we did it all at the same time.... on the same hole!

No notes and yes, Mrs Boon also hates my memory recall, 2 year old arguments are buried somewhere I just need to find them to be a 50/50 chance when they get brought up.

I forgot what I did 10 minutes ago.... that's why I was taking notes when calling clients on the course.... hang on, what was I just typing??... the joys of ageing!

That's why I loose every argument/lively debate with Mrs Corona.

Enjoy it why it lasts Boon!

what is the usual procedure for someone who doesnt have a handicap to play in one of those ambrose events?
