Cringeworthy Ads

Gee COVID must be generating low budget ads nowadays.

Watching the Sunday footy show last week there was this atrocious "man shake" advert continuously burning my retina's.

I don't watch much TV but gee there's some snot getting about, anyone else got any of note or any that could nominate for the "Hall of Shame"?

My wife, who is an experienced actress, just made $7K for a day filming a new ad in which she was the central figure.
Mind you it was a 3 hour drive to and from the filming site, but at least they'll also pay her for the mileage.
I expect I'll have to watch every time it comes on... :?

Annoys me more they said we had boardies on!
Noone wore boardies till the 80s, it was footy shorts at the beach only for us bogans.

My most hated ad is the Australian Pensioner Insurance ads with all the old morons dancing around, I want to kill them all for some reason.
And the end notes of the Toyota CMI ad kills more brain cells than a big day at the footy does for me too.

ReAmped Energy.

The kid at the end's voice sounds (a) badly dubbed, and (b) like she's auditioning to be one of the creepy twins in "The Shining".

One of a number of reasons why that ad gives me the sh1ts. You'd think that somebody involved with the making of that ad would be old enough to remember the 70s.

I had this in mind when I started the thread, I just couldn't remember who it was for, it's always on during the day when I'm on leave and it makes me wanna go back to work.

I wonder if the old farts realize just how stupid they look?

Yep, as I start work at noon and usually only work 3 days a week I cop it every day. Luckily my home time is bearable by the fact I don't have FTA on too much.

They irritate me too but for a different reason. When I reached the age where I could insure with them they were a good deal and reasonably helpful with any claims, but they gradually became more uncooperative and their premiums rose steadily after about 2008.

Eventually, I found I could get a much better deal with SGIC, provided I did my homework and negotiated at renewal time. These days I have arranged my insurances so that they all fall due around the same date and I can check my options and negotiate a package deal on two cars and two houses.

At one time I got a good deal via ANZ but that was only while I temporarily owned three houses in 2018 and owed them a lot of money. Once I sold one and was debt free they jacked the premiums dramatically and I gave them the flick.

Another ear smasher is the Woolies Green ad.

On the flipside, I quite enjoying hearing the new Vitara advert.
