I have some empathy for the people going through this, but, they got told in March "If you're an Australian over seas, come home now".

If they were in a big city (London/LA/NY etc) where that was easier I agree, but there would be plenty of genuine cases where people have only been able to get here by now. If you had to link up 4-5 flights to get here it would have been a nightmare.

Im guessing there is a mixture of the two.

Im also guessing there is a portion of people who thought they would ride it out overseas and now have decided returning is the best option.

I'm sure there were plenty that thought it was a load of bullshit and a media beat up at the time.

I know of a few that simply "waited too long" and thought it would pass and then sooked because they found it difficult to get back when they felt the need.

Flinders University’s Sturt campus will be closed for deep cleaning after a student who attended the facility in recent days tested positive to COVID-19.
Flinders University has been advised by an independent English Language provider (the Intensive English Language Institute - IELI) that one of their students who attended the IELI facility in recent days tested positive to COVID-19 today (17 November). The IELI facility is located on the Sturt Campus of Flinders University.
"We are working closely with SA Health and IELI as further information emerges."
"At this stage no Flinders staff or student has been identified as a close contact and there are no confirmed cases amongst Flinders University staff or students."
The Sturt campus is expected to be closed for the rest of the week, with students advised to study at home.

10 days!

As Wedgie said, we need to go into full lockdown ASAP.

Christmas Island?

Why not? Two weeks prior to travelling, two weeks on Christmas Island.

We were on the home straight and dropped the whip FFS!!!!!!!

An epidemiology professor from UniSA was on the ABC this morning and suggested exactly that. Reckoned that the quarantine policy was fine and well implemented, but it should have been done at remote locations, not city hotels.

I reckon the list of shutdown places is getting so long that they will be forced into full lockdown soon enough.

Still reckon a Mexican wall separating the contagious city folk from us country people.

A small rise in numbers due to be announced this morning.

People need to realise the places listed aren’t necessarily visited by infected people but also their close contacts.

Media beating this way out of proportion

To be honest, i was surprised when they didnt just do a lockdown of certain suburbs/postcodes on monday.

But looking at the list now, not sure that would have worked, and or it would have been too late. this family seems to get around a fair bit

Or the Bee Gees.

I'm waiting for a brothel to appear on the list.

Have you got an Uber or taxi to/from home in the past fortnight?
