Tuesday, Im in my 34th year at my employer and thought I had reached the age and tenure where I sit in my current role until retirement, which to a degree I was OK with. A new opportunity came up a couple of months ago that I thought suited my skill set perfectly, so I had a dip at it and went thru the process and jagged it. I start Tuesday. It gives me some faith that organisations do respect loyalty/history and the skill set that comes with them.

Anyway more importantly if you know a Finance Broker that wants to do business with the biggest business bank in the country, reach out, Ive got targets to meet :)

Port Douglas in 27 days from now,
Daintree tour, Kuranda train tour, The Reef day trip,
Staying at the Pullman Sea Temple, can't wait to just walk out the door & fall into the pool.

Nice! It's a great place to go, I went there as a part of my Honeymoon for 7 nights back in late April/early May. We stayed at the Pool Resort and had a swim out apartment right in front of their pool.
We did the things you mentioned, the Reef tour was a massive highlight.
Other things I'd recommend-
Hartleys Crocodile Farm
Jimmy Rums Cocktail Bar
Hemingway's Brewery
Going up North to Cape Tribulation
Watergate Restaurant
Rattle and Hum Pub

Yep, swim out apartment, can't wait.
Thanks for the recommendations, always looking for a good bar & brewery.

Best time of year to head up there, check out Palm Cove also, expensive but absolute paradise

Can’t recommend those 2 places highly enough. Both fantastic and being Accor Diamond we get treated like Kings there. Some of the upgrades and freebies have been awesome over the years.
Highly recommend going the Kuranda train up and the Skyrail back down if it’s open. Pay a little more for the train and go Gold class if you want free grog and some nibbles aswell as better seating

Going to Darwin in July
I've booked the following so far:

3 nights Darwin
Cullen Bay Fishing Charters - blue water fishing
2 nights Dundee Beach - staying at Skippers
Dundee Beach Fishing Charters - Barra fishing
1 night in Batchelor to see Litchfield National Park
7 nights in Darwin
We'll probably hire a car and go to Kakadu as a day trip

So far, we're booked into the following restaurants:
Peewees at the Point
Darwin Sailing Club
Cathy's Place

I would welcome any suggestions / comments

Gees not cheap. I flew a family of 6 to Viet Nam and the 2 week holiday cost less than this

Same thoughts for my 8 nights in FNQ coming up,
people say "don't go overseas, travel in Australia",
I could stay in Bali or Vietnam for a month for what I'm about to spend in FNQ.

Still yet to try their Darwin one but the one in Alice is probably one of the best restaurants I’ve been to up that neck of the woods

Are you staying in Darwin for 10 nights? There is very little to do or see in Darwin itself.

Lola's Pergola is worth a visit for a relaxed afternoon session and meal.

The first week is full up with my son flying in from Bullo River and 2 lots of fishing + Dundee Beach & Litchfield
We're quite happy to sit around the pool for 2-3 days. We're not full on tourists that get up at 6am every day to do something

Palm Cove, IMO, is over rated. I'd stay in Port Douglas with the budget or Cairns before Palm Cove again.

Shoulder surgery this Friday, then 6 weeks in a sling & hopefully only 3 months recovery but could be more. Almost 26 years since the first dislocation/fracture.
