Crumpet can be an excessive extra cost.

Crumpet costs the young lads a fortune nowadays

Yeah, you don't get crumpets on that diet.

Avo prices have fallen off a cliff, so the peasant class can afford them now.

We've reached agreement then.

Some people get so offended if you don’t agree with them, that’s funny.

Is it worth buying a home these days for first home buyers?

Without going too much into it, I would expect some financial savvy people would find it easier to build wealth by investing elsewhere and using the ability to claim tax on investments and then rent the family home, rather than paying for inflated property prices and relatively high interest rates.

Define struggle?
I’m sure it’s a hell of a lot different now to what we had versus our parents.

I think it's impossible to compare.

My mum raised me 90% of the time. And i know it was bloody tough for her. But saying that, i know on my wage now it's bloody hard for me...

True but we have far more luxuries than what our parents did.
And our kids have far more than us and so on.

My mum passed away when I was young, my dad worked his guts out for 6 kids to live.

It taught us 6 kids that nothing comes easy and you need to work and save for it.

Agreed. I think as parents we over compensate because we like to give the kids what we never had.

You’d still need to rent somewhere at overly inflated prices also.
