Just had a lengthy discussion with workmates about Jules Bar Tavern in Hindley Street....the revolving dance floor, laybacks, the old sleazy guy that sold the roses...ahhh those were the days! What is where that used to be now?
Have to say though my favourite was the woolshed down the Port whcih turned into the Nighttrain..good times :D

Was at the Watermark at Glenelg - formerly Lennie's, to add another old name to the mix - for my grandmother's 82nd birthday Saturday night and a similar bloke appeared suddenly at the table. Suspect the roses were about as old as him, and the price also roughly the same.

Used to work at Jules (and the Berkerley) back in the day - good times  It's now the Woolshed.

Berkerley was good because they let you dance on the bar ;)

The Big Ticket was good too but as an employee of Mr Polities, if we got caught there it was automatic dismissal.

My favourite place though was upstairs at Joplins. Twas my regular saturday night haunt for quite some time..

Loved Lennies, awesome music! We didn't go there that much though, bit far for us north western suburbians, would cost $60 to get home ;)
So Jules and Berkerley were the same place? I thought they were both open around the same time so assumed they were 2 different places! Wow, I must've been really drunk...! We only went to the Woolshed Friday night just gone - Demonseye rode the bull - funniest thing I've seen for ages hahaha!

Yep loved it! Flashies just does not compare...

Would do Timewarp on a Wed night, Havelock/Exchange on a Thur night, London Tav on a Fri and Sat night and then down the bay for the Sunday arvo session. Still managed to work 8:30-5:00 weekdays somehow :?

HAHA cossi my schedule was strikingly similar! My only difference was PJ's on a thursday night and occasionally Shags. I was at uni working part time so it was a bit easier. Ladies night at PJ's was the place to be :D

Haha, nobody in our uni courses ever scheduled classes on a Friday morning for this exact reason, blokes and chicks. As long as you had a couple of girls with ya, Thursday nights were quality nights for stuff all cost.

Never liked the Planet - refused to go there.

How could I forget Players - a paradise for young chickys with the who's who of footy players working there when it first opened..

I had a pretty good strike rate there ;)

McMahons Tonsley was huge.
Worked at Lennies for the last few years it was open and had a blast there. The Watermark is a modern day tragedy, being a complete physical transformation of St leonard's Inn.
The Circuit was a great place before it was closed down.
Loved Joplins and the Planet but was never a huge fan of Players.

Never really hit Le Rox or The Club (Currie St) but they were both huge too for a while.

The Havelock/Royal double on a Thursday night was also a big night out.
