Geeze I lived a sheltered life as a young adult growing up in the country - local pub on a Friday and Saturday night was the closest I got to 'night clubbing'

I only went to a night club once in the city - and I remember one thing ... people, people everywhere !!..lol
Oh and walking down Rundle Mall at 6am the next morning - the same day they were putting 'father christmas' up at John Martins :D

Umm no thanks... lol

The closest I get to 'clubbing' these days is picking my daughter up at 2am !!

(Which I know is early - my son used to get home at 5am when he went out - but - if she wants me to pick her up then 2am is the latest)

There was a website years ago (circle 1999) that had a directory of pubs and clubs in SA - but what was cool was that it had the previous names/functions they were.

Site was called needapub.com by a guy called Wolfgang (Wolfcat)
Site doesn't exist anymore, but the good old Wayback Machine lets us see it

http://web.archive.org/web/200408070409 ... .com/pubs/

Very crude, but it was cool at the time.

http://www.gdaypubs.com.au/SA/adelaide/city.html

is pretty interesting too. Like reading about old pubs and what they used to be called.

One thing I found interesting:

Cumberland Arms Hotel

Established in 1846 as the Crown & Anchor Hotel, 1853 Cumberland House, rebuilt in 1884 and was renamed the Cumberland Arms in 1892. National Trust listed.

Crown & Anchor Hotel

Established in 1853 on the site of original Union Inn Arms Hotel.

I recall going in there one night, I was there for all of 5 minutes and a chick walked up to me and flat out bit me on the neck, probably wasn't the greatest pick up technique, it hurt.
