What about fertiliser and coring etc?
My back lawn has always been great but the front ones struggle. Though I know I don’t fertilise as often as I should
exact same problem benny
my problem on the front lawn is there are three big trees drawing all the moisture from the turf and the ground is very compacted. I have almost given up on it. I think it is too far gone to recover.
Never too far gone. Core, topsoil + gypsum, soil wetter application in spring.

When should you core? what time of year?

And then follow with a quality topsoil so the coarse particles infiltrate the coresBooney wrote:MW wrote:Q. wrote:MW wrote:exact same problem benny

You're damaging the root stock to improve aeration so you'll want to do it in growing season so the roots have an opportunity to infill.
August/September would be a good time as your lawn will be laying dormant soon, if not already.

My old lawn looked even better but I did chuck on that one occasionally.

Couple of things.
What would be the best and cheapest way to get to the hotel from the airport? I am pretty sure they have shuttle buses from the airport but not sure if they go there.
Also any good pubs on church street any of you guys would recommend to drink at?

Cricketers Arms on the way to the G from there is a good one.
I think the Skybus is about $20 to get you to the Spencer St Station, or around $40 return back.
