So today I have completed my 55th lap of the sun. I reckon I have only got 20 more laps in me, tops. Most likely 15, maybe only 10 if the meds don't work - I like to spend a few hours each year around my birthday, checking on my/our financial status. My plan for some time, or indeed my number is 63. Mrs C says she will go on beyond that number (so I can become, ahem a kept man). My spreadsheet forecasting taking into account all things, such as property prices, super, investments.... all looking on track. So 8 more years of toil before I call time. Just need to still have a pulse when I get there, right?!?

Had a check up with my GP a few weeks back, blood tests the full drill. Results back, blood pressure a little high - so I am on meds here, and from what I gather, once you're on 'em..... your on 'em for the rest of your days. Liver (Yeah I know I was shocked) could do with a little less torture, Cholesterol on the high side, nothing outrageous. Worse though, cut back the red meat. Seriously how much chicken can anyone eat!

Made the decision a few months ago (prior to the latest lockdown) that I'd take my birthday off as a day of leave. Further, I have now decided, my days of working on my birthday are behind me. I recall working when I turned 21, 30 & I think 50 too.

The plans for today were to potter around in the morning, go grab a coffee, do some tidying up around home, before meeting a mate for a hit of golf, and a beer or 17.... Thanks to Dan, no golf. Can safely say I have ticked off the other tasks, although I am yet to crack a beer just yet. It's gone 2 bells here now. I give it 45 minutes.

So to the rest of the day, was considering washing the car, but then I'd have nothing to do tomorrow. I think some research into the form for tomorrow is warranted. There goes the rest of the arvo!

Popped into Dan's for supplies earlier, had a giggle, when I noted the best by date on the box of Corona's as I loaded them into the boot. March 2022.... they won't see out this weekend! Threw in a case of Houghtons White Classic (leg openers) and headed to the butcher. A couple of nice looking rib eyes, jumped into the basket. A lap of Woollies for some sundries, and I saw they had those small WA Crayfish for $26 each - 2 thanks love.

Bottle of red selected from the private reserve (I hope my GP is not reading this forum) and its a 2011 Kaesler Cab Sav..... from back in the days you needed a corkscrew to open them..... so I better go find one!

Go the Dee's, love to see them win through & round out a cracking day.

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys, much appreciated
