No wonder people are so confused with comments like that from health officials.

What an absolute mess this is going to end up

5800 in quarantine and the Tracers would be busy trying to track new leads I’d think.
In Victoria police were doing daily visits and still found 130 people per day not at home when required so it’s just not an issue here

Yep
Ankle bracelets would be a good start though combined with drone patrols

Yeah that doesn't fly with me. As far as i'm concerned if you're told directly to do something (or not do something), then you adhere to that unless directly told different.

The reasoning is just a weak cop out... don't give me the "I didn't know shit".. also dont like the language barrier being used - being involved in cricket large part of our member base is Indian/Sri Lankan/Pakistani etc.. and we hire out our ground all week to different multicultural groups.. I've had good chats with most of them, they all know what the deal is, and they all know how bad it is in their home country.

Press Conference is already on!

Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Emily Kirkpatrick, much better than Spurrier.

Isolation and quarantine confuses me.

He was advised to get a test days 1 and 12, and isolate, but didn't need to quarantine for 14 days?

Fine with me, you take Spurrier and I'll take Kirkpatrick.

I think she's been rolled out cause Spurrier couldn't navigate the way through the differences of close vs causal, quarantine vs test and isolate, etc.

Quarantine is full 14 days - generally issued to Close Contacts or known hotspots.

Get tested and Isolate - is an order to isolate until the test result it known. Generally Applies to casual contacts, and locations that are not considered hotspots but rather just locations of interest.

The further confusing part is Flinders Uni was previously a location of interest, and is now a defined hotspot, so the advice this individual was given is different to those that have been there since, and are now required to do the full 14 day quarantine.

I think the issue is what she is being asked to explain is not simple. I think she's been very good at explaining what she has been told to explain.
