They wouldn't be able to here either.
But if instead of being a drinking they'd been playing the pokies or dining we would have their details. Crazy.

Not necessarily. If your good at your job and your skill set is too specialised then you find it hard to get another job.

0 new cases overnight in Melbourne.
0 deaths overnight in Melbourne

Several Thousand test completed in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne around the latest outbreaks. Zero cases found.

Dan Andrews nowhere at the moment, no announcement.

Riots soon if he does not open up.

What's he waiting for, word from Beijing?

Feel for you mate, you blokes have done what he wanted and now he's shifted the goal posts. He simply has to make some changes this week but I've got a feeling he's concerned you'll all let your hair down Melbourne Cup, he's got no right to hold you any longer though.

When the reopening map was published, Dan said to move from step 2 to step 3, they had to have the unknown sources cases under 5 for the last 14 days.
That currently sits at 9, and as such, Melbourne should still be on step 2.
They are already beyond step 2 with things like hairdressers opened early.

I suspect he's waiting to see what spike comes out of all the illegal grand final gatherings that occurred over the weekend.
They'll have a testing push later this week and if that comes back clean-ish, I suspect you'll get some further relief come 1-November.

Correct, Dan's the drunk that came home from the pub blotto, p155ed the bed, then in the morning we have to praise him because he put the sheets into the washing machine.

Unless you are Victoria there is little to no chance of the virus getting out of a quarantine hotel

Yup, I don't think anyone is calling for quarantine by returned travellers to be relaxed.
With that said, I'm a firm believer that given SA has 0 active cases within the community, provided we maintain quarantine for anyone coming in, then we should be in a position that doesn't require any restrictions for the general public.

The Christmas pageant for example, not an event that overly excites me, but I don't understand why SA Health binned it.
Could it be that they don't trust the 14-day quarantine for returned travellers?

agree completely. i cant understand why we still have the few restrictions we still have.

people keep trying to tell me how its still out in the community, just undetected. but seriously, if its still out there, why is it only seeming to be passed around among asymptomatic people only? surely if we had community transmission here in south australia, some time in the last however many months someone would have contracted it and had strong symptoms, but that just hasnt happened. the evidence just doesnt show that it is out in the community here in SA

keep travellers quarantined and let the rest of us go.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.

No-one is advocating shutting down the overseas arrival quarantine system.
The problem with Victoria is they never did it properly.
Down to they saying they couldn't force the quarantine people to be tested and just let them leave.
See how many refuse if they have to stay cooped up for a month at their own expense.

Most of these other restrictions on hotels / restaurants in SA are just plain nuts.

I'm not too bothered by them, they are very lapsed any way and it's just the SA Government's way of trying to keep a tab on things until a vaccine is available.

Yes it's a nuisance to some degree but it beats the alternative.

myself? no.

but there are businesses out there that would like to allow their patrons to do so.

seriously, covid marshalls (what a joke, whos making money off that idea), seated drinking still, limits on parties, weddings and funerals still, its all bs. no one in the community has it.

its easy enough to bring restrictions back if we somehow start getting community transmission again. but how will we if high risk travellers are all being quarantined properly?
