Thanks mate.

In your expertise where would a 4th placed D grade play if their C grade finished 6th and their A and B grade played in Div 1 and was playing away. Would or could they play at home? Is their 5th placed opponent entitled to purchase the final?

How on earth did you crack my code ;)

So either Unley or Golden Grove then. Neither are very close to us and certainly nowhere near Norf Haven.

Let's just play it at Payneham and I will open up the famous "Javor Junction" for both teams :D

If one of the D8 teams pay for a home final they're entitled to also host a reserves game to help recoup cost.

You could end up at a neutral venue though, maybe Thebby?

I'm sure a D grade final will get prime time at Thebby

Their Bs are also meant to be playing away so I won't be surprised if they buy the final with their Cs done As with the week off.

Time will tell I guess. Kilburn don't have a 12.15 game and are at home so possibly their as I'd imagine their As would want to see the game after ours.

I guess we find out Tuesday.

So what price do one of these "home" finals usually go for?
Where does the money go that the clubs pay to buy these finals?
Can you charge an entrance fee if you have bought the game?

Last years 8R Elimination was at 2.15 at Thebby. I really hope history repeats or of course it's at the greatest football ground in the world PNU ;)

Do clubs generally make much money from hosting a final?

Cheers Q.
Who gets the money? Presumably the SAAFL, what on earth would they need all that money for?

The home club gets the cash. Where you play will depend on if the 4th placed club in D8 is eligible to host a home final.
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

The league outs it back into the clubs via reduced fees etc...

Its like asking what country leagues do with the entry fees they charge at the gate each week and saying they dont need the money ..

Actually no its nothing like that. The clubs keep the entrance fees, the league keeps their finger out of the pie. But then the country leagues dont have paid administrators. Well worth it i guess when you can get control of the CFL

I'm not sure how you could possibly compare running 66 clubs and 120 odd teams to running 8 or 10 in a tiny country league and then scratch your head as to why its not a part time venture

Plenty of cricket comps out there with a simlar number of teams that seem to run ok on a volunteer basis.
I just think its ridiculous that clubs have to pay to host a final. Would it even be worth it for the extra few parents and grandparents that turn up.

Few extra parents? Home finals are generally pretty massive and very profitable.
