I'm not sure you should be asking for both a refund and a new bit of fish. Would have though you would be entitled to either or, and it sounds like you were. Not quite sure what the problem is.

Especially considering they have no proof the fish was rotten

I remember when I was 15 working at foodland we use to catch people all the time who regularly come in after the event and claim things about their recipets and food etc

I mentioned to the manager at Woolies Mawson Lakes one day that they should be more observant with stock rotation with their yoghurt as I bought 2 for $8 and the due dates were nearly a month apart, it was my fault for not checking and then for eating the wrong one first, I was just pointing it out to him.
With limited proof he let me get another 2 and refunded me, I would've been happy with a "no worries, sorry mate".
It really is the best place that I've shopped in every aspect.

I took the 15 minute journey back there, went to the counter and explained myself again, they gave me the 2 pieces I was short, I don't think I'm welcome there anymore.
