Did you need to go to the dunny at any stage?

No I didn't. Sounds like the Ribs had some special sauce on them.....

Ha! No, they were fine. But there's no toilet in the restaurant. As it was after hours for the shopping centre you have to get a staff member to take you around to the western side of the shopping centre and use a swipe card to let you in.

Then you go either up two flights / one level of stairs or in the lift to the first floor.

Then you walk south, about 40-50m past some empty office space to the toilets.

Well that's a big oversight from the center. We regularly eat a Sushi Hiro on the other side (our kids go to day care on the end at Paisley Park), and the toilet is close there. Maybe once more opens up it will get easier. It's looking fantastic though, great for the area.

More so on the council/liquor licensing.....how can a venue be approved with out toilets!

Does the Council approve the individual tenants in a shopping complex?

I would have thought they approved the entire thing and that's it.
The fact one of them has become an eatery probably isn't on the Council??? (Could be wrong).

It's the very discussion we had on the night after I made the trek there and back.

Well the fit out would need Building Rules consent.

Plans need to be submitted for a liquor licence as well.

The shopping precinct was in desperate need of an over haul, no doubt about it, but I'm not sure I'd have been investing as much as some of the eateries have in there.

The first coming* of the Port, the Lighthouse, Newmarket, Birkenhead probably would have had enough support just from locals and they would have survived.

The second coming*, Pirate Life and the Admiral wouldn't survive without non-Portside people coming to spend money there.

This third coming* of the Port really is relying on people coming from far and wide, will many sit on the side of a car park for a meal or go to the thriving strip along the bottom of commercial road?

There are plans from Dale St to around to birkenhead bridge for that section to be a shopping precinct with only foot traffic.

Venue's without toilets seldom if ever work. Profit comes from the drinkers and drinkers want easy access to toilets.

@ Fasta Pasta Brighton. The lass made three mistakes taking the order, then the dishes were delivered wrongly.

I don't expect prime service at Fasta Pasta but still....

Should have said yes to the mixer to see what you got.

Had a function on Saturday night at The Beach House.

Not being able to drink or have red meat for a few weeks I was keen to bend the rules slightly for an evening, I engaged in James Squires while having a round of mini golf upon arrival and unfortunately it was relatively warm and unenjoyable.

Had pork belly ordered for me as an entree, the crackle was rock hard and I wasn't willing to break my teeth trying it, nor were others at my table, had some form of steak for mains that wasn't warm and seemed like it spent an extra 20 minutes in the frying pan as I tried hacking through it.

Gin was available which was a huge positive as the Doc has said I can drink that if I feel a need so a few of them it was.

On another positive, I've dropped 6 kilo's since starting a new lifestyle a few weeks ago, I've really been pushing myself the last fortnight though and the rewards are starting to show, I feel a million dollars too!

And you're going around the track around 3 seconds faster a lap, very nice.

I have knocked 16 minutes off my 7.3km lap time of Regency Rd, Churchill Rd, Torrens Rd, Fitzroy Tce, Prospect Rd then back down Regency Rd.

That's a fair loop, a lot of uphill!

F****** oath it is, it's a steady uphill all the way up Churchill but I record my best splits there, the bit up Torrens Road to Fitzroy Terrace is tough going and seems endless, it's a winding path too just to add to the journey, it's nice passing all the aroma's form the cafe's on Prospect Road for the home stretch.

Hit a few spots over the last week.

Sneakys at Virgara Winery.

Very good meal. Not too pricey. The guy f**ked up my oyster kilpatrick order so ended up with 9 instead of 3 (6 for free). Came out in front.

8/10

St Kilda Hotel

Pretty dank inside still, but good priced meals and massive serving.

8/10

My Grandma Ben (Bowden - Plant 4)

Had brunch there yesterday. Got the Kangaroo Crumpets. F**k me, it was the best thing Ive eaten in a long time. If you are in the area you should try it. Paired with an iced coffee, and some Cake Boy donuts on the way out...very good.

I thought Sneaky's was pricey.

What did you have at St. Kilda? I've had conflicting reports at work, the negative was from some sheila that always complains whenever she dines out though, and whenever she speaks come to think of it.

Sneakys cost us about $100 for two meals, two drinks and 3 oysters. Not too bad. I was expecting more.

At St Kilda, Im not sure what it was called. The St Kilda Plate or some shit. Was basically a seafood platter.

Huge. Had prawns, oysters, scallops, fish and squid. Too much for my little tummy.

Went to the Lighthouse Wharf Hotel in Port Adelaide. Both the wife and I got a schnitty, a parmi for her and a cheese/bacon/avo for me. Both very overcooked and the chicken was really dry. Toppings were good. Chips good, salad ok. 4/10. Wouldn’t go back
