I feel somewhat ambiguous about this - I always loved the Brickworks as a kid, but I went there last year and it was the dodgiest place - think Munno Para shopping centre stuffed down a stormwater drain. I didn't want to let the kids out of my sight. :?

Agreed. It's most definitely not like I remembered as a kid.

Agree with this. I used to love it as a kid and as it was getting towards the end about a year or so ago now my mother and I went and had lunch there and it felt really dodgy. All these young guys walking in around the stalls with hoodies over their heads, eyes darting side to side. Told her when wandering off to hold onto her handbag tightly just in case.

I'm working off a low base as I've only visited Munno Para shopping centre once and agree Arndale is worse but not Elizabeth (again only been there once) and certainly not Parabanks.

Never had the pleasure of visiting Colonnades.

colonnades isn't too bad

Thursday night, right at the entrance of Shiels jewellery shop were about 5 teenagers standing up and about 4 sitting down with babies in their arms as they were playing POKER!

they looked scruffy and dodgy as, and if anyone was interested in going into the shop they certainly would've postponed it for another day and the weather outside was quite mild and pleasant.

Perhaps the babies were being used as betting chips

Gotta love Tunza Fun at Colonnades - especially the mini golf course. What a ghetto! We had a hard time figuring out whether or not the Old Crow 440mL cans lying around everywhere were part of the obstacles.

I've never been to Arndale but I rode past it on my bike once and wasn't tempted.

I went to Elizabeth City Centre once when I was 15, because my parents always warned me about Elizabeth ('don't go there, you'll get bashed by gang members!'), so I figured that everyone was a pov derro up there, and perhaps clothing prices and such would be cheaper accordingly. It wasn't the case.

Just to update the Brickworks situation,West Torrens council held a special meeting thursday night to once again vote on if a lease will be given to another party and allow the traders to sub lease the back shed at the market but once again the vote was against this, the council will give themselves until november 30th to explore different options and then decide which is best option to proceed. The market will now remain in place for about 6 weeks.
