i actually just took it as a sign that they werent interested in insuring the type of car we bought, so deliberately priced themselves out of the market, our previous vehicle certainly wasnt that far above other companies.

I just got some good figures from SGIC, on both my cars, with protected rating 1 included. Another gain is the fact they are prepared to cover my 1996 Audi under their veteran and vintage category so long as its mileage is under 9000Km per year, which gives me a lower excess, and an agreed value at twice Red Book figures, comparable with UK selling prices for the model, for about half the premium I currently pay APIA for market value.

Multi-policy discounts will bring both down further if I transfer all my insurance.
I need to read the fine print though...

I recall they were the best quote when I had an Alfa GTV6, but I had to move on when I traded that for a more expensive make and their figures blew out.
