Hong Kee is also great just up Morphett St.
BBQ City on Gouger does good food, setting is the greatest but more than comfortable enough
I drive past Hong Kee most nights after work and its always busy.

Looking forward to seeing what they've done inside.
Mate and his missus went for lunch yesterday and rated it fairly highly. Parking space down that way can be a bit of an issue these days, otherwise there's some great eating spots.

Anyone been there this week?
Boon, have you been back since your first failed venture?
Thinking of going tomorrow night for a feed and a few beers.

Days doesn’t strike me as the wine or champagne type, so I’m guesing he’s a beer drinker.

One of the Spartans is a part owner, so probably avoid the Admiral Saturday 16th December, and the following 3-4 days if we win the championship.

Magellan wrote:Not quite a restaurant or a pub, but went into Port Adelaide this arvo and spent a couple of hours in a new winebar just east of the Port Admiral called “Michonne”. Good selection of wines, and some tasty cheeses, meats, and fancy toasted sandwiches. Not necessarily a cheap experience but definitely worth a squiz if you’re looking for something a bit upmarket and different in the heart of the Port.
After that, we noticed across the road a new Mexican taqueria that does some very tasty tacos (one we sampled had slow cooked beef, another chilli chicken) served in a traditional soft tortilla. Again, not cheap (tacos clock in at about 7 to 8 bucks each) if you’re in hunger demolition mode but very tasty and goes alright if you’re up for something original and a bit more informal.

Good to see people coming into the Port and finding places worth trying.
Next time pop into Korked wine bar. Best garlic bread you'll ever try.

We really enjoy popping into the heart of the Port, plenty of history and it seems there’s now a real critical mass of quality places to eat and drink. Certainly beats the shit out of what’s available for dining and drinking at Mawson Lakes.![]()
We went for a short wander to check out the re-done Port Admiral (absolutely pumping, probably not surprising) and on our way walked past Korked. Looked like a nice cosy little spot with a bit of live music. Thanks for the tip, we’ll bung it on the list.
