Haha smithy, i think i had those exact 2 games.

I think I "clocked" the popeye one twice over on one occasion. One single game could last 45 minutes or so, thumbs would be sore afterwards. I think i got that game when i was about 10, and my brother got a "turtle" game. My favourite game though was probably Donkey Kong 2, i think i clocked that on one or two occasions too.

The Galaxy Invader one, i remember playing that so much one night, that i couldn't get the sound out of my head when i went to bed that night. The game started to play up too the next day.

The other type of game i remember was the electronic type Mastermind game, I think you had to guess 3 or 4 digit numbers.

The hole proof "no knickers" commercial which created a bit of controversy.

I'm honestly wearing no knickers, no knickers at all.

This is interesting reading.

I missed most of that era, first due to being a young medical graduate working the traditional long hours, then being flat out as a specialist in North Adelaide with a steadily expanding practice and expanding working hours.
In the late 1980s I listened to my wife's complaints about me never getting home before 8pm and decided it was time I resumed having a life outside Medicine.
I quit for a while to get perspective and decided to change direction and set limits on meeting the demands from referring GPs.

It is easy to get sucked into putting everybody else's needs before your own in the helping professions.
I'm now glad I got a life back at that point - some of us doctors never do.

Re the rubiks cube, did anyone manage to get this solved? I could get 2 layers but not the third. There was another game called the "pyramid", that was quite simple to solve, and there was also a "snake", which was also relatively easy.

We had one of those machines. The only game I remember attempting to play on it though was Burger Time.

Me, me, me !! :D

lol

I can solve a rubics cube - but I have no idea how I do it (no I don't pull the stickers off!)

About 2 years ago they tried to make a mini comeback with the rubics cubes and they were in the shops - I told my kids I could solve them - they were like "yeah, yeah, sure mum" - so my son bought me one - messed it all up - and then I solved it - you should have seen the looks on their faces...lol.

I can't solve it in any record time but I can solve it O:)

Anyone have those vitamin tablets before going to bed each night? Good for teeth, I think that was the intended purpose. The orange colored ones tasted quite good, although i think myself and my brother generally were stuck with the colored ones, that didn't taste as good.
