No, at least they will continue to operate until the new year, another piece of SA history about to disappear.

its the second time that company has been in receivership, and last time was in the second half of the year and leading in to christmas too. found a buyer then, id say they will find a buyer now. just might mean a streamlining of their business and cutting a few stores.

Don't staff require 28 days notice?tipper wrote:DOC wrote:The Harris Scarfe story gets a smell about it after reading the story in this mornings paper.
once again, same way it happened last time. must be something to do with the way the receivers operate, their priority is filing the notices and telling the media, staff come a long way down the list.
just wait till they close some stores. last time when the munno para store was closed, the receivers kicked customers our early one wednesday afternoon, closed the store, gathered the staff and told everyone that the last day of trading would be saturday (so only 3 days) and that all the staff, including the store manager were sacked. (and far out i must be old, that was all back in 2001!!)

Rivers Schmivers, you only shop there if you're heading to a rodeo, When I had to start again I reckon 90% of my house was decked out by HS, I got some bluestone cookware a few months ago with a lifetime warranty for $80, the same set was $400 in Myer.
