Last night for example Troisi (I think) scored the winner & runs off to celebrate as if he is the greatest soccer player ever. Brilliant post. Could not agree more. A glorified tap in after a bloke did all the hard work with creativity, flair and determination.

At the risk of being destroyed for saying a bad word about Tim who has been a great servant to our country I find his self indulgent, selfish, ignominious, repetitive solo flag celebration one of the dumbest things in sport. I have seen him swat away, ignore and call off team mates in the process and I find it reprehensible.

Remember when Mark Williams from Hawthorn did the shotgun celebration. It lasted exactly one game before receiving league wide condemnation. Imagine if Tex snubbed his team mates and went into some type of chromosome missing boxing match with the goal padding

Timmy loves the glory of his solo celebration when he scores, but when someone else scores he is all over them, like he wants to take some of the glory!

Couldn't agree more.

The bloke has been unbelievable for Australian soccer but from many things I have seen, heard and read he is not the best bloke in the world and that is very much understating it.

Not "Things" that give you the sh1ts, more "a person".

Jon Lovitz.

He is a manlet, which really dents his rating.

Ahh, I get it now.

Tim Cahill is pretty good, but those 'boxing' goal celebrations give me the shits. If he tried that on the street, he'd no doubt end up on his arse.

Agree with the first part.
Plus with the Cricket WC im pretty sure AO was unable to be used.
Soccer craps all over Aussie rules as a sport though

Soccer isn't a sport it is mere recreational pursuit perfect for women to play....

Things that give me the shits? People who think soccer is a sport.

According to Ambays soccer is not a sport

I personally don't like over the top celebrating in any sport, including when batsmen make a 100.

Boxing the corner flag is part of the theatre that makes the sport great?

Therein, Jim, lies the problem with soccer, if some fool pretending to punch the corner flag is not only part of the game but adds to it, then something is not right.

Also, why do soccer players always have to be touching each others faces? Whether it be happy with winning, sad with losing or bemoaning a "challenge" during play, they are always cupping* each others faces. It's semi- homo-erotic and most of the time looks well out of order. I know my mates wouldn't be up for me cupping* their cheeks after a good catch at slip. :D
