good news. i honestly didnt think they would waive the original at all. obviously i was wrong (again..... you would think i would be used to being wrong by now...)

No real back-pedalling. I just rang up and the Fines Enforcement Dept told me the original fine was reinstated. To sort that out, they transferred me to SAPOL fines department - who told me that I would not need to pay the fine, as it was too late. From there, they transferred me to licensing to ensure that my points had been reinstated.
At no point did I have to defend my case or anything like that.
I reckon I'm pretty lucky.

Water warming up so the bait fish are on the move, the garfish are into them.....so on and so forth = sharks.

My old man would be out in his boat 150+ days per year off North Haven, he see's them all the time during the Autumn / Spring when nobody is in the water. He only gets excited when they're longer than his boat. ( 17 feet - 5.1m )
